Finally got an Aria offer!! Yippee! Actually got 2 of them! At quick glance they looked identical to me same free play/RC amounts and for 2 nights only the dates were different. For one I was able to book it online so I went ahead and did that for September. However, now looking closer at the details I see there was a slight difference. The one I booked would also have been good on weekends (doesn't matter as I am going through the week) and it states the resort fee will be added. So my current itinerary shows that I owe resort fee/tax. The offer I didn't book is only good for Sun-Thurs and it says resort fee MAY be added to your room. Does anyone have experience with this wording? Did you have to pay the resort fee anyway? Wondering if I should cancel my first booking and rebook with this just in case. If you still usually pay it then I won't bother.
Maybe it is an OPTIONAL fee. i believe treasure island and some other places doing that.. basically you either get the amenities and pay the resort fee, or forgo the amenities and not pay the resort fee like using the phone for local calls, in room wifi etc..
I had the "may be added" offer - had to pay it on check out. I did ask them at the desk if they would check with Casino Marketing to see if my play warranted the removal of the resort fee. She called but no answer on the line - it was early morning and she said the were busy. We agreed she would check later and resend me a new invoice - received the invoice - resort fee is still there - and I think with my play they should have removed it.
That does not make sense to me because I thought ALL resort fess can be removed with a high level of play
Not sure exactly what you are referring to. But, yes, all resort fees can be removed with a high level of play. What EXACTLY that level is probably varies day to day, host to host, hotel to hotel.
I've had this experience as well. At both Aria and Mirage I've had comp offers with and without the resort fee. Not sure the rhyme or reason for one or the other. My guess is that since they tweak and send different offers based on your previous play the resort fee is just one of those variables they can tweak, along with how much freeplay, food/beverage credits, 1 night comp vs. 3 nights comp, etc. If you call the VIP phone line to book they can give you a concrete answer as to whether your offer includes comped resort fees or not. Regardless, as others have mentioned, if your theo warrants it a host can comp your resort fees at the end of the trip.
depends on what is "high"? I thought $20K coin-in was very high, should be treated like royal, but the host thought it was too low, not enough to cover a basic room.
