Cheap Family Friendly Things To Do

So this trip will be very different as my two aunts and my two cousins (ages 8 and 21) are coming in to see Vegas...

My aunt is actually visiting from Pakistan (can't wait to see the look on her face when she gets some porn cards)

And my other aunt and cousins are practically born here so here is the list of things I have feel free to recommend or give any guidance

The free attractions on strip:
Fountains
Volcanoes
Conservatory at Bellagio
Caesars statue show
Flamingo wildlife habitat for the 8 year old

Paid attractions:
$22 for tigers and dolphins at mirage
$20 ish for Mandalay Bay Shark Reef
I was wondering if the silvery on aquarium is any good and we could just go there to see he free aquarium instead of paying $20 a pop at Mandalay bay

Maybe do the top of the world Ferris wheel thing

Any other suggestions? My little cousin wants to do zip lining at Fremont as well?

 

You could play MyVegas and get passes to the Reef and Tigers/Dolphins and save some money.

If you are going to be on Fremont St you can check out the Shark Tank at the Nugget.

The Hershey and M&M stores.

 

Mac King is an excellent family-oriented show and a real bargain when you use the coupon available at the players club that is good for 2 tickets & 2 drinks for less than $30.

A visit to FSE and container park should appeal to all ages.

Travelzoo has an offer good through Sept 30 for a number of shows at the Saxe and V-Theaters that include a few family-oriented shows. Shows include Popovich's Comedy Pet Theater and Nathan Burton's Comedy Pet Theater that will cost you only $10 per ticket.

I personally would opt for the Silverton over the shark reef and apply the savings to one of the above shows. The attached Bass Pro Shop is worth a visit for not only shopping, but the waterfall with ducks and fish.

Don't forget the free circus acts at Circus Circus.

If you rent a car, check out Ethel M's factory tour and cactus garden. The whole family may enjoy a shopping spree at one of the premium outlets.

I would recommend skipping the wheel and going to the top of the Stratosphere instead. Buy the all day pass, the view is awesome during the day and just as impressive during the night. (either that or go a hour before sunset to get both views, you save a little by doing that).

For that matter, there are some rides for the adventurous on top of the Stratosphere

ride the Deuce bus up and down the strip.

The linq has a vintage car museum, usually can get free passes to go see it.

For that matter the Linq has a shopping area near the wheel that has some interesting stuff, along with a bowling alley (good to check out).

Pirate show at treasure island if it is still running

The Venetian/Palazzo has a shopping area that have gondolas. Visit St. Marks (?) square at the same time.

Along with the M&M store you can also visit the coke store.

Mob Museum downtown and the neon bone yard downtown (can see old neon signs of past casinos).

Not sure but I think the miracle mile walkway in Planet Hollywood had some water shows along the walkway.

ride the various free monorails (like mandalay bay to Excalibur, Monte Carlo to Bellagio).

Take the free Boyd bus out to Sam's town. They have a nice atrium.

Don't forget to visit the 99 cent stores for great bargains.

Damn this trip sounds fun, I want to go! Haha! Do you have a car? It might be worth while to check out the dam I have never been and prob never will but you never know. Does your aunts and 21 year old cousin want to try out gambling? If they do and you have a car you could go out to Red Rock casino put the little one in kids quest even check out red rock canyon while your out that way ( never done that either......hell im there to gamble not look at nature) have a blast!

I have always had to have the coupon. The good thing is that you can use the coupon and pay for the balance with TR rc's. I use them every trip.

We bring our kids every summer and have a great time.
I strongly recommend the Children's Museum for the 8 year old, across the street from the World Market Center. He/she won't want to leave.
I second Mac King but disagree with Circus Circus. Unless anything has changed in 10 years, there is one 30-second act every 15 mimutes and speaking only for myself, I've always found the place creepy, in a way that has nothing to do with the clowns.

There is a kids club at the Orleans and I think some of the Stations if you want to gamble while the kid plays there. Some kids love it but others don't. If you use them, be sure to bring immunization records and socks.

We have our family trip next month, last year my son 8, enjoyed KA, Tournament of Kings, m&m and coke stores, High Roller ( kids under 12 are free) Hoover Dam.
This year we have Mirage Secret Garden, MBay Aquarium, Mac King , Love at Mirage and Red Rock Canyon. Most mornings are spent in the swimming pool before it gets too hot/busy.

We took our children when they were 11, 13 & 16.
We did NYNY roller coaster, went to M & M store (now there is Hershey's too), saw Flamingo habitat, Bellagio fountains, Mirage volcano. Shopped at outlet malls. We saw Mac King & Nathan Burton (both inexpensive day shows; kids loved Mac King--our youngest got to go onstage to help with an illusion). Also saw Terry Fator & Mystere.
