I am finally taking the plunge to switch CET hosts, a process that seems to be more challenging than it should be given the money I have left at CET casinos over the years, including this one.

My current host reports to the VP for Casino Sales and I have emailed the VP about getting a new host. I am curious as to the difference between the two VPs. Thanks.

Depending on the casino Player development can focus strictly on high end clients, large players from outside the local market that they think they can "develop" into better players or developing new or "inactive" clients (as opposed to servicing the existing active players like a standard host).
Have you ever considered an independent hosting company that works with CET? (Hint hint wink wink)

LOL. No, I haven't considered doing so given that I usually get great service from my AC host, from my Wynncore host and historically from CET in Las Vegas, but the past year has not been good. I'm hoping that changes with the assignment of a new host, which I have officially requested, or I'll just accelerate my transition to Wynncore and potentially Mlife, given that it appears that Borgata will soon be a 100% MGM property (while still getting my Seven Stars benefits from CET).

Let me know how the transition goes. I'd be curious to hear how long it takes and what the handoff is like. I'm sure they'll give you a solid up and coming host that will hustle for you. (They'd be crazy not to)

In the interim, our team at URComped would love to help with CET trips (or to any of our other partners). PM me if I can be of any assistance.
    Good luck!

Thanks shacktown. Will do on letting you know how it goes and if I need help in the future. It's amazing how many VMBers have trouble with hosts when we are actually planning to potentially spend a nice piece of change at a property. I don't get it and I know what a good host is as my host at Wynncore in particular is Exhibit A of one. Fingers crossed.

URComped is not that great. I tried using them for a trip to Lake Charles, LA and they wouldn't do anything for me up front after verifying my play. While a host on the property, after verifying my play, gave me 5 nights comped up front.

None of these titles matter, and vary greatly from property to property. All properties have different titles for people, and they all mean different things. There really is no universal title, except for maybe VP of Marketing. There really is no way to know for certain what a persons title means.

Agreed.... Another thing to consider is that "VP of _______" titles are as common as slot machines in Vegas. The title of Vice President used to carry weight, but unfortunately now, it is added to positions with little seniority or corporate rank. You'll find this to be even more true in the banking industry.

Yeah, I worked in financial services in the 80's and 90's and when they had someone who was really basically average but had a lot of experience they wanted to keep, they'd promote 'em to VP.

I used to call them Vice Presidents of Trees and Parking. :evillaugh:

And, even with the same titles, the "power" they hold will vary from property to property.

L'auberge is a partner of Mlife, if you are an established Mlife player, you can easily get offer from L'auberge.

I hear everyone about the titles. I thought it was interesting that my host in AC referred to me to the VP of Player Development in LV for assistance given that I wanted a new host but that person said I would need to go to my soon-to-be old host's manager, who reports up to the VP for Casino Sales. Both groups of people handle hosts but my current host is part of the sales group. Was curious as to the distinction. I agree that at end of the day it is the person that matters most. My current host at Wynncore I believe is pretty junior and he looks so young but he is, without question, the very best host I have had in 25 years of going to Vegas OR AC. He's just spectacular.

Hi Naturaleight - can you PM me? I'd like to personally look into your case and see what happened there. I'm really sorry you didn't have a good first experience. We've built up a solid track record with our casino partners and set up upfront comps for our players every day.
In your case, either we didn't have complete information to present to the casino to get you a solid offer (which is on our team for not gathering the right info from you) or this was a while ago and we have since gained a lot more trust and leverage with our casino partners.
URComped is growing (business has tripled just in the last three months) because when we have the information we need for a qualified player, we are able to set up very compelling upfront offers. Sounds like something went awry in your situation. If you can PM me I'd like to see what happened in your case and see what we can do to make it right. Thank you!

    Warm regards,
    Craig Shacklett
