    My Trip Report

This will be my second trip report ever...1st Semi Live report. I will make sure I update at the end or beginning of every day. I hate when people say they are doing a live or semi live and report the day they leave and never update...what a bummer.

This trip will include just my fiance (we will call him G) and myself. G is a big car guy, so we always have to do the car museums and other car places. I have 5 comped days at Harrahs in the new Carnival South King Strip view room. We will switch to the Golden Nugget. Just a regular room nothing special. We like downtown so we want to spend some time there too.

June 1st is my birthday. It's my 41st. I wanted to go to vegas for my 40th but that didn't happen, so I made sure it was gonna happen for the next birthday. I am also getting married on 03/30/17 in the best place..vegas of course.

Plans include: In no specific order

    Tour the bellagio wedding sites
    Hollywood Car museum
    Tanked Tour booked from Groupon
    Rock Vault from Living Social
Counts Kustom (repeat already been once)

MyVegas: Shark Reef, Zumanity and the Cravings Buffet.

We are not foodies. Actually we like good ole comfort food. I have the MRB book so we will be using that for most of our meals. We don't like spending alot on food, but we also dont like doing fast food very often either.

G plays slots...very low roller..he is boarderline cheap..so he doesnt like blowing all of his money..
I play slots, but also love to play BJ switch, Ult Texas Holdem. I tend to play cards while he naps or sleeps. I am not a napper nor do I sleep a whole lot, so I will get in some cards while he sleeps.

I work from home during the day and I watch my 3yr old grandson while my daughter works 3-11. Today is my last day, tomorrow he goes to my SIL to be watched. Flight leaves BWI-LAS at 440pm ET SWA tomorrow. I purchased an extra seat for G as he is fluffy and the last time I flew SW we got the extra seat on the way down but on the way back the flight was booked. I was crammed like a donut in a package last time and you would think from him, nope someone who wanted the window seat decided to encroach on my seat the entire flight. I thought she was gonna put her head on my shoulder.

Tomorrow have to get up and take G to work to ensure that he gets off on time...He is a very social person who never stops talking and wont get out of work on time. We have to drop the fur babies off tomorrow at the kennel. I am gonna cry..its the first time. I usually have someone dogsit but my pit is a little on the crazy side and people are not watching her properly the last two times so kennel it is.

Hope you have a blast. I leave tomorrow to celebrate my birthday June 1 too! You are obviously intelligent and witty. I am much older than you but none the wiser. While I have been to casinos on prior birthdays this my first birthday in Vegas. Did you realize what a extra lucky day it is? 6/1 - 1/6. Which, btw is 2 sevens! Enjoy.

Ok, it is officially my birthday and we are all settled in. I dont know what they are talking about security lines being long due to the hollidays and summer...we were through ticketing and security in 20 mins. It took longer in the chipolte line then it did for security. Flight from bwi was smooth except the older ladies behind me talking extremly loud to each other sitting right besides each other. They kept me awake for most of the flight.

When we landed got a text that our room at harrahs was ready so I checked my bank to see what I was charged for doing the online checkin. I was originally told that they charge your cc $250 and that's it. Well that's not 100% accurate, they do charge 250.00 but that's on top of the room fees.

We have a mustang reserved for 249.00 for the whole week from Enterprise. Everything went smoothly and we were off down the strip in our white mustang. We stopped off at EI for the steak special and so G could get his root beer that he loves. Played some random slots while waiting the 1hr wait, lost a quick $40. Steak was a little over done but OK. Since it was late, we went to check in after we ate.

My text said my room was ready and go to the designated gold line to pick up my keys...well at 9pm, there is no dedicated line and there was only one line. There was about 5 people in front of me and it moved pretty quickly. I had a carnival king south room strip view reserved. Room is brand new and even has the new smell...the view...well its more like the back of harrahs...but I can see the strip somewhat..lol.

Tomorrow will be my birthday events.

Ok, Carnival south room review.... It's new...lol
There is no refrigerator (which I dont use)..There is no safe (I'm going to go ask for one)..
and the Big One...there is no SHOWER DOOR!!!!. I get the whole frosted door thing, although I miss a lock, but no shower door at all..there is literally a space where the door goes and no door. I have never ever been in a hotel with no curtain..no door..nothing. It's just weird to me.
Bed was ok. Not super soft, not super hard.

Room is freshly redone, so it's pretty good. I have a view of the pool with the strip behind it.

We are off to GC for the breakfast buffet, then going to trop to get our tickets to Raiding the Rock Vault, then Pinball Museum and then downtown.

We have reservations at Buddy V's. Part of this trip is wedding planning, so I will be going to carlos to plan my wedding cake if it's not too far out. (Getting married next march)

I was there from April 24 to May 5, I also am a car guy, if you want to surprise your boyfriend the Ferrari and Lamborghini dealers ships allow you on the lot to look at the cars. They are all used but a car guy will love it, the Ferrari deal is also Towbin rolls Royce and they have new ghosts on the lot you can look at.

My girlfriend scored major points for surprising me with a trip to both.

I don't like the no shower door thing. I get cold in the casinos and like to take a hot shower. Without a door I don't get the steam factor.

Wed June 1st...my bday. We are on east coast time for the entire trip. We got up around 6..showered and out the door by 7am. We played for an hour a day at harrahs and never hit anything substantial. We headed over to GC for the buffet. I like any buffet that has fresh to made eggs. I eat eggs pretty much every day, so as long as the buffet has someone making omelettes...I am good. We went to the buffet, no line, food was good. Played for about hour on slots...lost every $20 I put in the machine, so I switched to Ultimate holdem..doubled my money. So I left the GC about even.

I purchased a living social for raiding the rock vault, so we headed over to the tropicana to pick up our tickets. Played for about an hour...left even. Headed downtown in our convertible in the HOT, HOT, HOT vegas sun. G was trying his harded to make me a lobster this week...luckily I didn't really burn. We put the convertible at the GN valet and off we went. Played around GN, Binions and the plaza. Nothing really hitting. We went back to the room to let G take a nap and I went down and played Ultimate Holdem, I played for a couple hours and left even.

Dinner was at Buddy V's. I read reviews on Buddys and went in with mixed expectations. I think the foodies have ruined las vegas. They are so critical of every place in vegas that if you are not a 5 star they give bad reviews. Well, I can tell you that it was a fantastic experience and will positively go back. I made reservations for 345pm so we could make it on time to our show. I didn't know that they had a menu for between dinner and lunch. I really wanted the veal parm, so I asked the waitress (who was also the bartender) if I was able to order it even though it wasn't on the menu for 3-5pm. She came back and said yes. It was fantastic!!! it was truly the best piece of veal I have ever had. It was huge and cooked perfectly. G got a meatball sub because he doesnt really eat italian, but he did eat a section of my veal because it was huge. Since it was my birthday, they brought me out a birthday canolli, which I have had before at carlos. Still fantastic as well, nothing compares to a carlos canolli. This really was one of the best meals I have had in a long, long time and I will return.

Headed to Trop for RTRV. The show was great. I was born in 75 so the first couple of songs from the 60's & early 70's weren't really my thing, but G was raised with older sisters so he loved them. Once they got into later 70's and 80's it was great. It was amazing that these guys can sing so many different bands and sound authentic like the original singers. The guys had great chemistry performing together. The really were great, can praise them enough.

Thursday June 2- Had a 2/1 mrb coupon for PH buffet. Again had made to order eggs, and the rest of the food is always good. We drove to the cosmo and valeted the car and played for an hour or so before we had to go the bellagio to meet the wedding coordinator. G was doing fairly well, I was not. Then to the bellagio, it is a long walk from the front door to the wedding chapel. Never realized how large the inside of the hotel really was, but it was like a 10min walk. Arrived to the chapel, and there were already to other couples planning. I had an appointment, but had to wait about 15 mins before someone was free. The consultant was great, explained everything and we were happy with their process. Put our deposit down, so can't wait for our return. We went and picked up our tickets for our myvegas zumanity tickets.

We ate at the mirage with our myvegas free buffet. I liked the make your own pasta station, and G loved the flank steak they had. It was good for free. We went over to casino royale and played until bedtime. I was down, G was up.

Friday June 3 - Went to EI for b1g1. Breakfast was good...played in the casino and didn't win. They took out all the good games I liked. We had a myvegas shark reef free ticket. Again, its a long walk from the main entrance to get to the shark reef. There was a gem show going on, so there was a lot of people in the area. The shark reef was cool, a little small but a cool thing to do for free. We had a tour booked at ATM (tanked) for 1pm with groupon. G is a big fish tank person. We have a large fresh water tank. I didn't read the fine print and you are supposed to wear closed toe shoes. Well my flip flops are not closed toe, but they did have some fashionable spare shoes we could wear. The tour lasted an hour and a half and was well worth it. You start off in the gift shop where there are 15 large parrots. Some of them can talk and will talk to you if you talk to them. They also have a cat, 2 snakes, and some lizards. I asked who the animal person and she said Wayed is. There is a story with the parrots, but I'll let you guys hear it from them. What you see on the show, is what happens there. She warned us that there are a lot of attitudes and emotions that go on. As soon as we walked into one room, Wayed started yelling its not my fing family..I didn't fing teach her how to drive...OK. Trish's eyes got big as baseballs. We got pictures with Brent.

Went back to the hotel so G could take a nap, he needs naps or he's cranky. We were supposed to go to the rio with a coupon, but we really didint feel like leaving the hotel. I had chipolte and G had pizza for dinner. We walked along the strip playing in various places. I lost, G did well.

Saturday-WELLL....we were headed to the Orleans for our b1g1 coupon..but the rental car had a different plan. We picked up a screw in the tire and got a flat tire. I called enterprise and they said they would switch out our rental but I would be responsible for the cost of the tire. WHAT!! If I would have taken the insurance it would be covered but I didnt. Ok, well we drove the vehicle to the closest gas station and put air in the tire and then drove to the closest walmart. G is a car guy, so he said there was no way we were paying for that. We went and bought a plug kit and green slime that came with a travel air pump. 20 minutes later on the hot asphault...tire was plugged and filled with slime. (really didn't need the slime, but that was payback for trying making us pay for the tire).

G wanted to do some car stuff since we already were working on the car..lol. We drove over to welder up, which he loved, then to counts kustoms. We have been there three times already. I am over it, but he loves it.

Saw Zumanity, and it was good. It was funny and an overall good show.

I wont bore you with details of the rest of the trip. There were no good hits. I hit phils progressive on hangover for 128.00 and that was my biggest hit...sad.

My budget was 1800.00 for the six days. $300 a day. I brought back 600. Not to bad. I was winning towards the end, but no big hits...just little wins.
G had a much smaller budget of $1000 and he brought back 100.

Had a great time with just the two of us.
