As was posted here by someone previously, yes you can can use the DTG Grand free.

My brother is using my comp at 4Q and he knows he can use the Binion's rooftop, but DTG pool and layout is so much nicer. Anyway, I called DTG today and asked if you showed a room card from another downtown hotel, could you use their pool? Yes, and no need to show a room card. Apparently it is open to the public. At least through the June 5th weekend. I didn't ask after that.

    10 day forecast for June 3rd weekend-low 100s!

great....booked the DT Grand to escape the clusterf^& of the Nugget pool children and now find it will follow us to the Grand. Will be pressuring the hotel to comp the 'daily resort fee' as coulda stayed elsewhere without it and wandered to the Grand to pee in the pool. Whatta joke.

I used it last month with no room key. No questions asked. No children around either. It was very nice and relaxing up there, with good music, good food drinks, and good service.

Yeah, that's crummy. Good for anyone staying elsewhere but terrible for anyone who is staying at the DTG. I stayed at DTG the summer after it opened and the pool was absolutely awesome in terms of no crowds, lots of chairs, and general cleanliness. It blew the Golden Nugget out of the water.

It was at the top of my list for my next stay downtown but if the pool conditions go south then I have no reason to be there. Gambling conditions and restaurants mean nothing to me when you can walk to any casino on Fremont in about a minute. The Golden Nugget at least has the "paid" pool available to ditch the crowds and guarantee a seat.

Why would DTG think an open invitation to the pool is a good idea? Any of the homeless people could jump in to cool off.

Nahhh - as long as El Cortez offers free ice cream bars for small jackpots and free cigarettes for points earned, that panhandling money goes straight to the casino :)

its no doubt to bring numbers to a new bar, restaurant at the pool. Last ones fell flat so trying to increase numbers...

This might be one of the smartest things DTG has done.

DTG has done a lot of smart things......but generally they change things a month later.

It's not going to make their hotel guests happy.

Bingo. If I was staying there and frequented the pool this would infuriate me. Looks like this is another decision that may bolster revenue in the short term but will have long term consequences. And the beat goes on at the DTG........

Interesting, their website says "Hotel guests and local residents receive free admission." So if you're visiting but not staying there you may not get in?

I land Friday night and can't wait to check out the pool 1st thing in the AM when it opens on Saturday. I hope that'll be the slowest time and that hopefully most people will be drunk and passed out from the night before :D

I've used the pool as both a hotel guest and guest from another property, never had an issue with finding a chaise lounger or having the pool crowded. I always buy a few beers so i can feel like I not taking advantage of the pool. Beats paying $40 for a lounger at the GN Hideout.

returned from the Grand and happy to report that the pool area remained uncrowded, clean, and well serviced. good drinks and good bites. nice little seating area to eat, surrounded by raised herb gardens....definitely better than the DB scene at the golden nugget

Last year I was enjoying stays at DTG of four nights comped and felt that I had put in the work to establish myself there. Last week my wife and I got mailers offering undisclosed casino rate rooms and five dollars comp play. The really irritating thing is that her offer levels were exactly the same as mine even though both of us play almost exclusively on my card.
