Cab fare 30-$35(if they dont long haul you), why dont you use the wax? You mean you got off at the wrong stop?

I have two replaced hips and one replaced knee plus copd so i can't walk like i use to.
I didn't get off at the wrong place she missed my stop and let me off by some hugh parking lot about 5 blocks from the Fremont. I should have just stayed on and waited until they started back to the airport and stop next to Binions and Fremont.
But i learned my lesson the hard way.
    Thanks for the info..

I think that parking lot was the bonneville transport center, if you stay on the bus it will drop you off at 4th and carson, which is a right by the walgreens on fremont.

You could give Uber/Lyft a try.

I have to agree. I think you got off the bus too early at Bonneville Transit Center. One more stop and you would have been very close to Walgreens on Fremont.

without any discounts, Lyft from downtown to airport was $17.96, including tip.

Sounds more like the MSS parking lot which is indeed huge.

Sorry the driver missed your stop, OP, that sucks. BTW when I've taken a cab from the airport to downtown, it's been like $42 before tip.

don't think WAX goes near MSS and hard to imagine them missing the main stop downtown. Sounds like Bonneville to me

Really recommend Uber. The WAX is cheap, but can be a pain if you have bags and not too agile. Have paid between $13-$17 from airport to El Cortez. Cab is usually at least $25 plus tip.

I like the Wax but have a feeling we'll just miss one and don't want to wait 45+ minutes. Uber isn't an option with a basic phone. What's the cheapest route to have driver go downtown on a Saturday about 9:30 AM? Down Paradise?

Well, if you're eliminating the shared shuttle option, then yes, no tunnel and take Paradise. Ignore the driver when he says there is construction on Paradise and insist on it.
Then once you get to The STRAT , depending on which hotel downtown, either Main Street or 4th St the rest of the way.

I'm with you, just a cell phone.

We'll either be at Downtown Grand or El Cortez so I guess 4th would be best.

What about a taxi from downtown to the Linq during the day? Would the freeway to Flamingo be the way to go or should he go back up Paradise?

Yes, 4th would be the best route for either of those two.

    Can't help on Strip stuff.

The shuttle sounds like it should be something you consider. They will help with luggage and for one or two people, it's going to be a cheaper fare than a cab. The only downside is you may have to wait a bit before departing.
