I received a Plaza mailer today for July & August. 3 deluxe room nights and $15 in FP or $25 in promotional chips.

Nothing to get to excited about except, it doesn't have the fine print qualifier that your play must equal your previous play or you may be charged for a room, that has been in my previous offers. That's a good thing!

It seems some months they try and the offers look decent, they fall back to their old stingy ways.
EDIT: Reread the fine print one more time and there is a $18 resort fee per night on the free rooms. Go away Plaza.

And I've had separate emails that have said $10 resort fee and $15 resort fee on my one paid night.

Did the fee go up, are they clawing back on comped rooms, or do they not know what they are doing?

    Hey Joe,

My Name is Gary and I am one of the Executive Casino Hosts here at the Plaza. I wanted to clarify the fine print on your mailer you received. It states "A $15 resort fee is included in your free room offer" which means we COMP the resort fees as well as the room. We wanted to add this into our mailers because some other property do offer complimentary rooms, but still charge the resort fees.

I hope I was able to clarify it for everyone. If you need any additional details or would like to book a reservation, feel free to contact me at the office.

Maybe if you use the pool in it's unfinished condition it's $10 but it will be $15 when it's finished? Or maybe the $15 was desperately put in to help fix the casino roof after the rain? Or maybe other Hosts threaten to quit so the $15 will be used to retain them?

I'm thinking of calling them to see which one of the above is the reason it went up to $15. Oh wait.... maybe it's because they want to open the other half of the crap table by bringing in 2 more dealers.:poke::beer::evillaugh:

I hate to be cynical about Plaza host involvement, but our recent experience here is that good ones seem to disappear really quickly...maybe the tiger will change stripes...

Last trip I met curt and talked all things plaza, I wrote a nice letter and answered his questions on the smell of the casino (which wasn't offensive at all, it's was very reasonable in terms of intensity) but by the time I got home a week later curt "is gone". In the pat year his replacement also cycled through so not sure what exactly to expect this time round. This trip I'm staying there (on somewhat of a murky "comp" offer) so I plan on doing a full report and status update next week with my experience. A few more days now....

I also received the mailer. I can verify that when I was comped in January, I was not charged the resort fee. I hope the same offer is extended into September, when I can use it.

FYI... They've removed the ability to use FP on ANY VP machine, bar or floor.

When did this change? Was there this weekend and used free play from an offer and free play from the VP tourney on the VP at the bar near the sports book.

    It
Its been that way for a couple of years on VP. The only bar you could use it is the one near the sportsbook with the horrible paytables and some machines upstairs in the hallway leading to Oscar's. Never anyplace else for VP and FP.

I just spent five days at the Plaza. My room was clean and comfy and everything worked. It was serviced promptly every morning. As Gary said, comped rooms have no resort fee. ( but they do have FREE WIFI). I can also verify that my Freeplay would not work in several VP machines I tried. ( at least the ones on the floor). I went and put my twenty dollars of Freeplay into BIG Bang Theory and won eighty so that worked out well.

I had some discussion with Jonathan Jossel regarding the hosts appearing and disappearing from this board. Obviously we don't know the back story to everything that happens. It is kind of silly to speculate that something sinister is afoot. There are always various and assorted reasons why people change jobs. Sometimes they are just making efforts to further their careers. Regardless of which host appears at the this board ( or others) I think it is great that The Plaza staff makes an effort to keep in touch with what people want through social media. I don't see a lot of the others casinos doing this.

I guess those must be the only machines they haven't changed yet and maybe because they are worse paytables than the floor? Or maybe they have just forgotten about those. A year ago, you could use FP at the non-sportsbook bar (Omaha?) bar and some of the non-full pay machines on the floor. Now, they've put up the little placards at that bar, plus every single machine we checked on the floor. This was two weeks ago.

This is not even counting all the Plaza hosts who tried to post on here but were fired before they completed registration.
