The photos are from the Bellagio. Just got me thinking about people coming to Vegas to lay by a pool and buy very expensive drinks. Its not my thing but have met quite a few people and that's one of the biggest reasons they come to Vegas. Comments....

We don't usually do pool time in Vegas but for our upcoming trip we are staying longer than usual, and decided we will do a few hours each morning just to avoid gambling and drinking all day for 5 days straight! (Not that there's anything wrong with that):p:drunk:

My aunt is that person. She always travels to amazing places and sits by the pool. IDGI.

I never was a pool person until one day I joined the Buffoons for Cabana Day and I was a convert. But they are a fun group and hilarity and inappropriate behavior is usually involved. What's not to love?

I love relaxing by the pool. Not all day, but two hours is a nice break from the casino. I am not sure why that would be a big deal to someone.

Yep - we go to the pool every single trip - even in winter - for exactly 5 minutes - why?
Because for some stupid reason, after every trip to Vegas, of which there have been many, somebody in the family or friends will ask
" did you go to the pool"? or "did the hotel have a nice pool"?
    My answer: yep

I'm good for about an hour each morning. I go for a dip and shake off the cobwebs and then get breakfast before the pool gets too crowded.

That's my sister's story. We even flew 10 hours to Hawaii and she just wanted to hang at the pool. If I have to travel more than an hour, we better do something!

Pool time is all about relaxing and enjoying the company I'm with.. with several cold beverages of course.

Plus, you have to think of it this way too. If you were at the tables, there's a good chance you could lose all that money in a couple of hours. For the same amount of money, you can spend 6-8 hours with your friends with some good memories (and stories you can't always share )

I used to dream of sitting by the pool and having drinks and swim up blackjack in my younger years. Now I will occasionally go to the pool, but only for a few hours, it has lost it's appeal. I think it's a youth thing! ;)

+1 and especially if you take long trips like I do, typically 9 nights.

People go to Hawaii and don't snorkel. People go on vacation and eat McDonald's. People go to San Francisco and don't eat dungeness crab. People go to Bend, Oregon, and drink Budweiser. People go to New Orleans and freak out over chicory in the coffee. Different strokes ...

I like doing a day-long pool day. Getting some sun after the wintertime is great for us upper Midwest folks, plus people watching the fantastic scenery. Last couple of times I've done it via cabana, however, my trip in August will be w/ reserved chairs. We'll see how that works out with the temp 100+

typically never see a pool. however we did a couples trip (4 couples) last summer and rented a cabana for a day. we had such a good time we did it again the next day.
why? because we could, because it was our vacation, and because we relaxed and didn't have to worry about a damn thing (other than running out of alcohol).

I wouldn't do it every trip, but I don't regret it one bit. There was still plenty of time after dark to have a good time!

I love this. My daughter always tells me, if you are there, you have to do it. Leaving tomorrow, so will do it next time.

I think pool time is great for people who are going in groups. Lots of social interaction, drinks, chilling and hanging out. Great break from gambling, clubs, running about to shows, shopping, etc.

I personally haven't done it but can understand why people go out of the way to hang by the pools. Vegas has got to be the #1 place for lavish and over-the-top pools. It's vacation after all.

I did several years ago decide to go to the pool just to hang out and do something different. I even went to the resort store and bought me a pair of swim trunks. Never made it.

That pair of swim trunks never saw a pool yet to this day.

Pool time can be relaxing. I can see spending an hour at the pool even on short trips.

I can't do more than a few hours of gambling and drinking a day. There is time to do other things.
