Are there any online gaming sites, eg: Bet365, ladbrokes. That don't require a scanned ID for
    proof of I.D

Dont feel like scanning my drivers license or passport online.

I had no idea that Gaming sites scanned IDs. It seems pretty creepy, although I can see them not wanting to allow children to Gamble online. But, there is nothing to stop 14 year old Billy from using his 35 year old Dad's ID and scanning to the Gaming site it to be able to play. Teenagers are more technologically smarter in 2016 than they were in say 2000. There were reports that teenagers were hacking Tax returns and stealing the tax refunds in 2013(I was a victim of the 2013 Tax identity theft, and was LIVID. I was LIVID for about a little bit and then calmed down when my logical brain reminded me that I was getting paid in a few days, had some cash on me, was not destitute for money, and I would be getting my tax refund after the IRS instigated my claim that it was not me who filed and got the tax refund. I am still angry about it to this day, but I am not LIVID about it, it is a subdued anger. Okay, slightly went off on a tangent ;)) I personally am not okay with scanning my ID over the internet after being a victim of Identity Theft.

I have no idea how anyone can trust online gaming sites. Playing for a few bucks to have fun is fine, but....

Every single site requires them, it's because of regulations. I've always blacked out passport number or license number etc to avoid any damage. Super easy and not something that should be worried over unless you're planning on gambling on rogue sites.

Most only require your ID when you cash out. They make it easy to put money on but hard to get money off the site lol go figure.. But in all reality your just as likely to get caught up in being hacked by going to a big retailer than an online gambling site. If you do not believe me then you probably shouldn't be gambling online.. Not to mention my credit card i use to play online with has fraud protection so I am not worried one bit. And I collect miles for all the money I use lol it is almost as good as the "mint loophole"

Actually, the gaming sites probably have better protection than regular retailers. Given the industry and the amount of money moving back and forth, security has to be the number one concern. If you mess up once, you can consider the site dead. Ultimatebet being a good example.

If you don't trust the industry leaders with your CC or identity information, you really shouldn't be gambling online at all, like said above.

Just out of curiosity I have to ask, when you book flights or hotels, do you book and pay for them in person? Doesn't sound very convient to do it other than online.

Their random number generators are all audited, but I certainly get what you're saying. I generally just bet on sports online. I don't get much of a thrill from online casino games.

RNGs aren't the only thing you have to worry about. The entire game has to be programmed correctly as well. Smaller sites have been busted every now and again for rigging the games. And probably even more sites have had payment issues.

Again, it's why I only bet on sports (and horses) online.

As they say, there's a sucker born every minute. There's not a single reason to use these "smaller sites", there's just way too many good/big sites around.
