    My Trip Report

OK, I'm going to TRY and remember what happend this past weekend:
I flew out of Bradley in Hartford, CT Thursday afternoon. It was my first time flying Southwest and had absolutely no problems and will definitely fly with them again. Since they changed their check-in procedures to 24 hours before your flight, it was a cinch to snag an A pass at 3:01 pm the day before. Seeing that the lines were already forming about 45 minutes before the flight, I got up and joined the other cattle. This was definitely a full flight. The one good thing I can say about lining up is that you get to meet new people. I struck up several conversations with those around me and it made the time go by quickly. Soon we were airborne and 5 hours later winging in to Mecca.
After landing at 5:45 pm, I grabbed a shuttle downtown and was at Main Street Station in about 40 minutes. Blackjack Ron met me at the door and up to the room to drop off my carry on.Ron had landed a few hours earlier and had taken a limo from the airport. In the room was a half bottle of champagne left from his ride which he offered to me. The 3 day bender had begun. We caught up while I quickly polished off the bottle and we were then out the door to the Mirage to hook up with Beach and her bevy of beauties, her friend Cyndi and her sisters, Gail and Jackie (at least I THINK I met them there!). There to greet us as well was Mikey and his sister Tennesse Cin. Great. This trip would have 3 "Sins" - Chicago Cyn, Tennessee Cin and Albequerque Sin!! Sure makes it easier on a drunken, addled brain and believe me, these girls put the "S" in S&M!!
Still feeling parched, especially after that "Extra Dry" Champagne, I was given a hefty Captain and Coke, followed by another and another and another and....well you get the point! The party was certainly on! We ambled over to the Carnival Court to meet the rest of the gang. The weather was perfect the music hoppin and lo and behold, an empty single deck BJ table with a hottie dealer! SCORE!! We all grab a seat except Mikey who called us heartless Philistines and other words to that affect for daring to play 6:5. 2 minutes later, who is that sitting next to me putting cash on the table? You got it! Like I said the band was great and so were the drinks. I switched to Beam and Coke and they were made the way I like them - basically a glass full of bourbon with a shot of coke. I played for a while snagging my usual garbage cards which I'm sure helped Blackjack Ron to go on an awesome streak. The definitive slogan for this trip would be "I CAN'T LOSE!!" By the end of the night Ron was up $1100.00. he biggest winners though, were the 2 hot dealers who between the 2 of them snagged $2500.00 in tokes from Ron and Jer. These guys were putting down 25.00 a hand for tips by the end of the night. As for me, I have absolutely no idea how I did. I was going back and forth between the table, dancing with Cin and Gail and begging Jackie for a dance (who didn't move all night). Things were getting really fuzzy for me and by the end I was dancing with 4 girls, yep seeing double! We somehow made it back downtown and in bed around 4:30 am.
Later that friday (around 11-ish) we kinda opened our red-rimmed eyes, crawled into the shower (damn, that's a low shower head - even I felt tall!!) and headed out in a quest for food. Ron and I ambled down Fremont after he put his bet down on the Indians in seach of beef. We settled in at the Chicago Brewing Co. in the 4 Queens and ordered a couple of tasty brews and some burgers. Good beer there! Having been cured by the hair of the dog and extremely full (Ravenous Ron ordered a triple burger butr couldn't finish it) we strolled back out and down to the LVC for some more blackjack....and drinks. Friday's bender was now on. We stayed there for about 4 hours or so killing time until we were to meet up again at 777. Oh, I was down 200 from the Court and made it back at LVC so I was now even again.
MSS was packed but we had reserved a table for 25 so we had plenty of room. The gang meandered in as we ate and drank and the fun was dutifully recorded on film for posterity. I will let others pen a more adept description. the Station was truly that, a starting point as we anted up for the bill and headed out to the "tracks" and PLAYED CHICKEN WITH THE GRAIN TRAIN all the way down to the El Cortez. About 15 of us played this game of chicken and 4 lost, 2 seriously (Tennesee Cin and Kikky were down and out early). Blackjack Ron also disappeared early but apparently only suffered a glancing blow which he was able to ultimately shake off. Beach Crazy Angy was true to her form and as a result, was nearly kicked out of the El Co. Vegas Jer and I replayed our last visit there playing against the infamous dragon ladies of the pits. All too soon it was time to get Angy back home before serious damage was done and I had the pleasure of sharing a too short of a cab ride with 4 beautiful blondes (Angy, her sisters and Chicago Cyn). Back at MSS, I ran into Ron and Terry at the tables and quickly bought in. Blackjack Ron was not done in as I thought and was in the beginnings of another prodigious run. I CAN'T LOSE!!!!!!!!! was heard again and again. And it really seemed like he couldn't. During this time both mine an Ron's phones were ringing every minute or so as Angy kept calling us. Howe many times do you have to say "just get yer ass down here!"!!! Angy and Cyn had decided after eating that they weren't through and came back dowtown to join us. Beach did not last long however and soon disappeared. By 4 am I was crashing hard and headed up to bed for what I thought would be to catch several hours of sleep.........WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!
I had just gotten to that nice, blissful Beta wave state of sleep when CRASH, BANG!!!, in stumbe Ron and Cyndi. Oh well, who needs sleep in Vegas? Actually we did finally crash at around 6 am or so. 3 hours later we were up as Cyndi had a jonze for blackjack (I'll let you decide if I'm talking about Ron or the game, heehee). and back down to the casino they went. I grabbed a long, hot shower and joined them. My head was still too fuzzy to think about cards and I also wanted to get more points on my players card so I sat down to an old coin in Double Bonus Poker machine next to their table. I put 40 in, ordered some coffee and Baileys and proceeded to play. About 20 minutes in (I was doing nicely), the Ace and Queen of Spades was dealt. I held them and BAM!!!!!!! ROYAL FLUSH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My first!! I was a Virgin no longer! Getting that old fashioned hand pay was sweet! 10 Benjamins! I sat back down and finished playing (just what was in the machine - the grand went to the room safe) slowly playing it down and got teased once with a 4 to the flush (damn, why couldn't that 10 have popped up!).
Ron and Cyndi finished playing and Cyn grabbed a cab back to the Mirage. Ron headed up for a shower and we were Mirage bound ourselves for lunch at Carnigie Deli. I decided "what the hell" and ordered the Woody Allen - about 10 lbs of pastrami and corned beef between 2 tiny slices of rye. It was awesome and I finished half of it (quite a feat, believe me!). We spent some time chilling with Angy and Cyn before heading out to the strip to check out Wynn. Verry nice but it really reminded me a lot of the Mirage. Newer and a tad more upscale, granted but it still had that feeling. The Ferrari dealership was nice. Instead of waiting in line and paying to get in, we went to the Ferrari store next door and looked at the cars through the glass. We headed back out to catch a cab back downtown to get ready for some Voodoo and got to see one of those Ferraris up close as the driver got pulled over for running a light.
We cleaned ourselves up and headed over to the Plaza to meet Vegas Jer, Kikky, LV Terry and his golf buddies. Ron tried to snag a limo but due to Agassi's charity ball going on none were available. At the Plaza they have a bar set up just outside the front doors. We walked up to grab a drink for the ride (bender nbr 3 about to begin) and Terry just beams at the bartender and says 'THIS IS THE GREATEST THING I'VE EVER SEEN'. The tender then says 'I don't have any alcohol yet'. With out batting an eye Terry fires back 'THIS IS THE STUPIDEST THING I'VE EVER SEEN'.......Priceless! Ron, myself and Terry's friend golf **** Mark (whose birthday it also was) grabbed the first cab and the others the one behind. We get to the Rio and wait a few minutes for the others. Not seeing them we head in and up to Bambaleos to meet the rest of the crew. There we find out that Terry's cab had a flat. It seemed to be that it was not going to be Terry's night! Mikey, Cin, Doc Al, his wife and Beach and co. were already there. The rest finally showed (at least they didn't have to change the tire) and Jer, Mikey and myself saw that Bartending goddess from MMII, Heidi working the other side of the bar. We went over to see if she remembered us, and as we approached, she took one look at us, narrowed her eyes, and exclaimed "I remember you!" and laughed. EVERYBODY moved to that side of the bar and a great time was brewing. She remembered the Terrys and several were made. Still tasty as ever. I did have a JaegerBomb to toast Larry who was MIA serving our country in the Middle East.
We headed for Voodoo where as it turned, most of us forgot our VIP passes so we had to pony up the cover. All I can say is that it was worth every penny. Only 2 downers to mention: I ordered a Bourbon and Coke and watched as she poured a JACK DANIELS and Coke! Being true to my Kentucky roots, I refused the drink telling her I asked for bourbon. She poured me a Knob Creek instead. The second happened at the bar outside, again with a B&C. I guess the glass was never rinsed after being washed as the drink tasted like soapy water. Time to switch to beer. Oh well.
The place more than made up for it though. The view from up there was absolutely amazing!!! We had such an incredible time. The music was great and lots of dancing was done. It was wonderful going from one group of friends to the other like it was our own private cocktail party. It was truly a beautiful night.
All too soon it seemed it was time to go. This time Ron scored a limo outside the Rio and several of us piled in along with 2 girls we kidnapped on the way out, dropping them off at Caesars. Blackjack Ron wanted to head back home for more, what else, Blackjack and the rest of us headed for SCORES! Another "to do" to scatch off my Vegas list - going to a strip club. Ter, Jer, Kikky, Tonya, Sin, myself, and Mark (did I forget anybody?) headed in. The place was jammed and the women were hot. Thanks for the lapdances!!!!! 'nuf said! Seeing double yet again, it was time to leave. We stumbled out and instead of a cab, Scores had a Shuttle there where for 5 bucks each would take us where we needed to go. I stumbled up to the room (4:30 am yet again) and Ron was nowhere to be found. Oh well, guess he's pulling an all nighter as he had to be at the airport by 9. Ron finally showed around 5:30 and proceeded to pack and grab 2 hours of sleep. We said our goodbyes and I headed down to the buffet for breakfast - MISTAKE!! DO NOT EAT THE MSS BREAKFAST BUFFET!!! I decided to stroll down Fremont and gave Terry a call to see if he was still going to Jillians to watch the games. He was and I met up with him and his buds there. Great place to watch the games!!!! I was too strung out from the bachanalia and just had water - 20 or so glasses! LMAO. Had some good hot wings and watched the Sox kick Yankee ass (we needed to!!!!), San Diego humiliate my Patriots and about 6 other games being broadcasted.

All too soon it was time for me to say Adios, Amigos and go catch my uneventful flight home.

3 little words: WHAT A TRIP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think I'm still hung over...........

Nice deal on your first royal. I hope i can break my cherry, this month.

I've had decent luck on Southwest as well. The cattle call boarding system is a slight PITA, but if you do manage to get in line early with the A pass, those exit aisle seats are definitely worth it.

Triple cheeseburger at the 4Qs brewpub.....mmmmmm.

Great TR. Sounds like some good times, for sure. Congrats! on that Royal! I broke my cherry over two years ago, and haven't gotten any since... I'm the queen of 4 to the Royal, though.
