Definitely different. I guess they feel they can cram 5 people in a room and those 5 will ultimately spend more on gambling, dining, and drinks since the cost per person for the room will be less.

I can't imagine this would be too practical for a group of women - all fighting over 1 bathroom!

Alcohol over-consumption and bunk beds. Hmm.. What could go wrong? :haha:

Makes sense for families, though. Just cut the 5 year old off after his 3rd beer and you'll be fine!

There will be more than a couple people taking a spill trying to get down from there while drunk.

I certainly hope so or it would lose the entertainment value.

Just another way to get "high" in Vegas.

Putting pullout couches in at Rio would be more attractive than encouraging people to cram 5 bodies in that small room. Overall the bunk beds seem like something that would only appeal to young guys and maybe it's me, but you can say that about a lot of things at the Linq. I like that the invested in the place but I become less interested in it with every new thing they rollout.

So, what demographic would this appeal to? There's a part of me that says this is specifically targeting college-age tourists (those who have to pool funds, etc.). I thought Vegas was migrating / had migrated away from the 'bring the family' philosophy to the 'what happens in Vegas ...' line of marketing. It might be something to consider if you did have kids...but...the Cromwell just doesn't scream family vacay. That's just me.

To me this is trying to appeal to families.. not really for college guys.. but either way i am glad the linq is at least trying..

But The Linq does, and that's where the bunk beds are, not the Cromwell.

Interesting but it's something I wouldn't be interested in however those bean counters in Vegas know a lot more than I do about making money.

This is to appeal to Millennials who have absolutely no money and are used to vacationing either in youth hostels or AirBNB places. I look at this and thank my lucky stars that I changed my reservation from The Linq to Planet Hollywood. A hotel with bunk beds isn't really my idea of a good time.

How do the bunk beds in a handful of rooms out of the 1000+ change a thing about your level of enjoyment?

I agree with your assessment of the target demographic. I don't really understand the rest of your post though, as the article states that only 12 out of 2640 rooms have a bunk bed...

It starts with 12 and then spreads. That's the Vegas way.

Good grief! that's worse than the rooms at MGM in the West Wing! I couldn't imagine trying to breath up on that bed claustrophobic. Yeah I'm dramatic that way!

I highly doubt you'll ever have to deal with bunk beds in your room if you don't want them.

I'm glad the Linq is trying something different (and yet unsurprisingly some people will complain about it).
