I saw an ad on another LV website for Capo's. The atmosphere looks kind of cool and I checked out their on-line menu and it looks reasonable. Any opinions on their food and if it's worth the trip to go there? Thanks VMBers!!!

I ate at Capo's a couple of years ago, and it was a fun, kitschy atmosphere. There was a very good crooner singing while you dined, a whole mob theme (including the place looking like a hole-in-the-wall mob hideout), and the food didn't blow me away, but it was decent.

HOWEVER....Capo's was recently profiled on ABC affiliate Action 13 on their "Dirty Dining" segment. Any restaurant can have issues but once those issues are out there in the public consciousness, it's extremely hard to unsee it. I was actually considering eating there again but when I saw that, I changed my mind quickly. There are many other Italian restaurants in Vegas to choose from. Here is the link to the segment so you can see for yourself. If you do decide you want to take another type of gamble in Las Vegas and are still determined to go, you can always find a discount on Groupon for the place.

Capo's is great but you don't go for the food, you go for the ambiance and kitsch. The food was fine when I was there. Nothing memorable except the bottle of wine we ordered was bad. First and only bottle of wine I ever had to send back. They sent some mobster type over to give us a new bottle.

Agree, Capos is alot of fun. I didn't watch the video, but I hope its better.

Its an experience. Mobster theme. Its alittle LOUD. Don't go for quiet ambience.

Used a 2 for $20 lunch Groupon there last year. Fun atmosphere, average food. Worth $20 for 2 lunches and they are on Groupon all the time.

I love the old Las Vegas. First visit approx. 1973 when I was 21, but didn't mob ambiance end about 30 years ago. Food OK, nice evening but not worth going out of my way for. As vegasvic said, average food but worth it if you use the groupon.

I didn't mean my first visit to Capos was 1973. That was my first trip.

I think that's the point of the place, it's a play on Vegas' mob heritage of that past. I enjoy places that pay homage to old Vegas. But I agree, I wouldn't go out of my way to go here unless you have the Groupon.

I agree. Vegasvic, will Las Vegas ever get a supper club fish fry like Wisconsin? LOL. I'm up there from Chicago every few months and have had many in Muskego.
