After doing a ton of reading on the forums and comparing things, I've become stuck in terms in what I wish to do. I've decided to move away from Mlife and CET, and to establish play with other player programs and finding a new home casino. I've also gone on a 2 year hiatus with CET, (Marriage and a New home will do that) but when I was playing, I was a mid to high diamond, able to get comped suites wherever I chose across the country which was a huge plus. Case in point, just never had great luck at the CET properties in Vegas or anywhere else for that matter, except at Showboat in AC, which I did shed a tear after it closed. (Home casino) So well anyways, I'm down to Red Rock/GVR vs. Orleans/Sam's Town. I understand the properties 'listed' are vastly different with the Station Casinos being more upscale. However, from what I have read so far, it seems like the station casinos cater more to locals than to outsiders, meaning more comps to them instead of out of towners. To me, no matter how 'pretty' the property is, I rather bring my wallet someplace else in which treats me well. I am strictly a slot player, 90% Dollar reels and up, I might dabble with max bet penny video slots. 1$ Quick Hits are my favorite. My wife and I are 'not completely' about the look of the casino anymore, we're more about now having our money go further, having a few drinks and having a good time. For what I am looking for in a new home casino is of course comped rooms/suites twice a year, perhaps a free buffet here and there. Not looking for anything outrageous like a limo rides from the airport, (rather rent anyway) or VIP Club entry or even free show tickets. If anybody wishes to comment, thanks in advance or needs more information don't hesitate to ask. Feel free to throw in your 2 cents as well.
Wow, tough choice. We are bconnected players and are happy with them. I don't know anything about station casinos, but if I were to change, from what I have read on VMB also, is I would probably go with station casinos. Both have a lot of properties to choose from as far as play distribution. I wish I could help more in your decision but either way, I don't think you will be disappointed.
Thanks for the response, From the way it looks now, I'm leaning towards Orleans, they seem to have a decent crop of machines that I would play on. Wish the station casinos had some sort of slot finder for their games like Boyd does.
I'm with Bconnected! I don't stay or play anywhere else. Lots of casinos...Orleans, Gold Coast, Fremont, MSS, CAL, and the new acquired ones. You get comps for a little play, better with more play.
I've only ever played at Orleans for a few hours, never stayed at any of the Station casinos or Red Rock or GVR, but my impression would not be that the Stations properties are more upscale than Red Rock and GVR. What I do know is that room prices at Orleans are 1/2 as much as at Caesars, so I'd expect to only need to play 1/2 as much (or less) to get a room comped. I go for two weeks at a time and I'm considering switching the Caesars portion of my trips to Orleans because it's the mostly-gambling portion of my trips and so I'm less concerned about property amenities and more concerned about lower minimums and costs.
As much as we love RR and GVR I think you's be better off with Boyd. You're right in saying that Stations casinos cater to locals; you can only keep your status there for six months and then have to start all over (most other places it's a year). The rooms at RR and GVR are far superior to those at any of the Boyd props where we've stayed but you'll get much more bang for your buck at Boyd.
Hey Now! Boyds. They take good care of us! Last year we stayed at GVR on a MyVegas comp and I put in 3k play and didn't even get any offers.
It's very true. I really hate Station's 6-months status revamp/reset rules. That's why I have given most of my plays to BConnected casinos instead of Stations.
I loved Red Rock and GVR but they don't comp me like Gold Coast does. I am a low roller and play slots and VP and get comped rooms for usually 2 nights . Orleans I enjoyed but they smell they pumped in I can no longer tolerate. I am now looking for more value for my buck and some good food over fancy rooms, B connected offers me both .
Another thing that I have noticed like you said, is that they have numerous properties in which I can casino hop. Crazy as it may sound, I actually can still get comped rooms at Caesars, but like I have stated, just no interest. Rather pay for rooms someplace else for a fresh start and to have a good time playing slots. I understand completely that I am not going to win 100% of the time, but I rather stretch the dollar out a little bit more than I did at Caesars. Thanks, I did not know that Station Casinos status quo is 6 months instead of the usual year, that does put a damper with me living on the East Coast. That's horrendous, I did have some discounted coupons for GVR from MyVegas as well, but to not hear anything from them at all is pretty terrible. Think I am started to lean heavily towards Bconnected, thanks! Exactly, I have lived the days of fancy but at a cost. My bankroll from here on out is going to be smaller than it has been over the years and I agree, you nailed it, rather have more value for my dollar and enjoy good food. Hi Gang, I always thought that the Station's 6-month status only pertains to local players. For us non-local players aren't we on a 12 month status? Maybe I misunderstood when I signed up? I prefer to stay and play at Boyd Properties anyway.
Stations 6-month status applies to out-of-towners too. Makes it hard when you live on the east coast. They should change it to 12 months for non-locals but, since they cater to locals, don't think that's going to happen.
