    Hello guys !

i just came back from a wonderfull week in Vegas , now that i didnt lose any money i wanne go back once more this year.

i was thinking about going with a friend arround november or december.

since those are the really cheap months to go i tought maybe this was a nice option.

anyone has any experience going to vegas in these months , is it to cold or is there not alot of people there ?

is it worth it going in november / december ?

Still lots of people, but too cold for the pool. A nice day can allow for some al fresco dining, but usually not.

I've been to Vegas in November and December, Christmas. I love the weather. I wore a hoodie or light jacket in the day and at night I'd wear a sports coat. During Christmas it was quiet but not dead. Don't tell my family but it was one of my best Christmas's (sp? ) in a long time! Also, rent a car and go to Death Valley, it will be comfortable.

The last few years I've gone the first two weeks in November and it is perfect - warm enough during the day so that you can still wear shorts and t-shirts while walking around if you want and chillier at night, so you will need to bring some long pants and a light jacket with you. You can walk anywhere you like in comfort since it is not super hot.

We go nearly every year in December. It can be cool, as others have said, but usually not cold. I like the lighter crowds that time of year. It's not dead, but not quite as crazy busy as other times of year can be.

As an awareness, a number of shows are black during that timeframe, so probably wanna check availability if that's a concern.
Truthfully, I kinda prefer the Nov/Dec weather in Vegas. It's not cold (I live in Florida), but seems to be just the right temperature
to be outside walking the strip. I've been out there in July & August...opposite ends of the spectrum.

We almost always go in mid-late December. Since we don't do Christmas as a high holy day, we will sometimes get a good air price flying back on the 25th.

Lines tend to be short, crowds tend to be down, and people are usually in a good mood and the timeshare dweebs don't seem to be as obnoxious.

Some shows are dark over the holidays, but not all. Hotels are cheap and easy to get comp days. During the height of the Great Recession we even got comp rooms at (blow on fingernails, wipe on blouse) Caesars!

Some but not all shops are closed on Christmas Day, but open bright and early for after-Christmas sales on the 26th.

One semi-annoying thing is the non-stop "Jingle Bell Rock" and such music over the casino sound systems. They appeared to be backing off on this for a few years, but last December it seemed to be quite thick.

    Oh well ...

To echo what has already been said here. We love Vegas late-year. We go every year in November, often for the marathon. This year we're actually going a week later and are going to be there over Thanksgiving.

To be bluntly honest - Vegas is always crowded. But in November the sidewalks are noticeably less crowded, especially day time. I still wear shorts most days, but my wife will bundle up a bit more. As others have said, no pools, but that may or may not be a concern.

I've never been around a major holiday (this is our first time for Thanksgiving), but I'm assuming it might get pretty crowded then. And remember, fall weekends are always popular due to football betting. Lastly, most of the casino programs have holiday points events where you can buy items with points you've accumulated throughout the year. These tend to happen in November which brings people in as well.

My Wife and I have a trip planned for 1st week of Dec. Looking forward to it. Vegas is always busy but as others have mentioned it seems less so in Nov. and Dec. (except for Thanksgiving weekend).

My Wife likes going to Vegas with her sister. Problem is her sister has a husband that can be trying to say the least, at times. I don't care going to Vegas with them but I try to be tolerant out of respect for my wife.

Truth is, going to Vegas with my Wife's sister and husband sucks......

This reply was hilarious, because I love how with every comment about your wife's sister and husband, the description becomes less and less flattering. Kind of wish it would have continued. :) It's also funny because we can all relate to those feelings with respect to someone.

I mentioned we were going to Vegas Thanksgiving this year, so wanted to follow up on your comment. How crowded is it that weekend? We've been debating whether we want to leave the day after Thanksgiving to avoid huge crowds or just stay through Sunday....we'll probably arrive the weekend before.

I've gone twice in December - around the 12th each time. The NFR Rodeo is in town that week so you see lots of cowboys and girls!! It's cooler, there are a few less people and the mood is generally high! No pool but being from Michigan, I'll take 50s and 60s over below zero temps anytime!!

    Enjoy your trip!

Actually, I've never experienced Vegas during the Thanksgiving weekend. My comment was based on the dozens of comments made from members of this board. Also I have friends who go with family during that weekend and they just dread it.

You might want to use the search feature of VMB for forums on Thanksgiving weekend or if you start a new thread I'm sure you'll get a lot of feedback from our members.

I go in the first week of November every year for SEMA the 2nd largest convention of the year there. The strip is PACKED so you might not want to go that week, sometimes it's hard to get a room and they will cost more too

    Hey Kevke

We just got back after a wonderful trip as well and we always go late Oct their early Nov and the weather is always great. 70's day and 55's night. Yes SEMA is always there but we had not had issues with rooms. Actually the SEMA crowd is fun. Hope you enjoy your return trip. We are coming back also so see you there

Last year I was in vegas 16 days during two visits in December. Have also been on thanksgiving. The restaurants have a special menu so they are packed. This is also on of the rare times that locals invade the strip and downtown. During Christmas you can ice skate on the cosmopolitan pool.one thing that's amazing to see is hearing Christmas songs and people cussing at the same time! I have Jewish friends that go to Vegas to see that since there is drug that can simulate it.

I've gone to Vegas in October, November, December and January. October is still very nice but pools close near the end of the month. November can still be warm and you can still probably rock a short sleeve shirt all day. December/January you're looking at short sleeve during the day, long sleeve / sweater at night and pants the whole day. Sometimes going in the winter is a nice change as the super hot summer temperatures can be draining sometimes. It's nice to walk the whole strip and not have to stop for an air conditioning break

We have gone every Thanksgiving and Christmas for the last 5 years, except last year when I broke my wrist 12/20. Anyway, the weather is cooler and that feels good. I'm fine with long sleeves during the day and even at night Thanksgiving time. Christmas, I bring a light jacket. Fewer crowds for both, but still busy.

My biggest complaint...summer when it is boiling hot out, they super cool the casino. Winter when it's cold out, they overheat the casinos. You never know what to wear.
