    Hi All,

So after several side trips during my regular Vegas visits I've decide to spend a few days/nights downtown. I'll most likely be staying at the Golden Gate as I really enjoyed my time there last trip and was able to connect with a host. I'm pretty familiar with your typical downtown offerings but with the ever-changing landscape that is Las Vegas, I thought I'd get some of your thoughts on things/places I should check out, even things a short cab ride away would be great.

Yes, in a suite. I've seen pics of some of their "smaller rooms"

This is my complete overview of Downtown Vegas vs the Strip.

Smaller casinos, better meal deals, lower table limits with better odds and from what I have heard because I don't play them looser slots!

Triple George and Pizza Rock across from Downtown Grand are both good places to eat.

Even though I haven't partaken myself, some of the bars/restaurants in the Fremont East district (once you pass the end of the canopy and then LV Blvd) look interesting.

Is the container park worth a look? I didn't get down that far last time I was there

Yeah it's worth Checking out but it isn't a spend the afternoon type place in my opinion. If you go during lunch or dinner I HIGHLY recommend Big Erns BBQ if you like BBQ. It's awesome. The 3 meat combo is plenty of food to feed two people FYI

Pizza Rock is a must. Incredible Caesar salad and meatball appetizer too. Awesome place and a must. Gourmet pizzas and just the best atmosphere.

The Neon Museum is amazing if you like Vegas history. I'd highly recommend it. Need to book a day or two before. U can book it and Mob Museum in a bundle and save money.

The blackjack at El Cortez is the best in town. Double on any two cards. Bj pays 3/2. Fun old Vegas atmosphere. Nowhere I like gaming more.

The D is a lot of fun. The upstairs classic slots are has coins ! And horse derby too!

    Post a trip report.

Agree it's worth an afternoon, but it is an interesting place to check out. If you like finer spirits, check out Oak and Ivy.

Or an evening; nearly jumped out of my shoes last trip when I had my back to the mantis when its antenna fired.
