Headed back to Mandalay Bay next month.. skipped right by it on my last 2 trips

I've really enjoyed my time at the video poker bar that is connected to the Eye Candy Lounge. You know, the big square in the middle of the casino.. the VP bar on one of the sides... Anyway, I can not remember for the life of me.. what is the credit amount for these machines? Is it 25c (= $1.25 max bet) or $1 (= $5 max bet)?

I could not imagine each credit is $1 since many bar top VP is 25c (= $1.25 max bet) at Aria, Cosmo etc.. For some reason I just recall it being $1 at the MB casino bar.

Mandalay bay still pretty good about comping drinks? Or are they following Aria & Mirage?

    Cheers!

I am almost positive that bar top is dollars. The VP bar over by Mizuya is quarters. I have yet to have an issue getting a drink at either of those bars.

This is correct. Only Mizuya Lounge has quarters. The rest of the casino's bartops are dollars+.

We definitely played quarter VP at a bar on the floor on April 12th.

I don't know the name of it since we never go to MBay. It was the bar that has the really tall back to it and the pillar in the middle, sort of in the middle of the casino. No tap beer, but pretty good selection of craft bottles (including 90 Min). I'm pretty sure the House of Blues behind us, but I didn't pay much attention. I think there might be 2 sides to the bar, but we stayed on the one side.

No problems getting the good craft beers comped, so time requirement like Aria, and service was decent overall.

Edited to add: According to this map http://www.earlyvegas.com/sites/default/files/the-hotel-mandalay.jpg, it was EyeCandy where we were playing quarters.

Hmmm...I wouldn't be surprised they lowered the denominations for that bar, it looked pretty dead when it was dollars+. But after downgrading the paytables I'm sure. :( I haven't been able to check Eyecandy since Sept. 2014. You wouldn't happen to remember any paytables for the games you were playing? Hopefully you took a pic or two of good hits there to help remember? ;)

Haha, I just checked my phone and no pics of any hits there. :( We were playing BP but I honestly can't remember if it was 7/5 or 6/5. I'm really leaning towards 7/5, but I really can't be sure. Sorry! We never get down that far south and were just killing a couple hours before we met up with friends.

At quarters, I would bet a good amount of money it was 6/5 actually, especially since I've read that MB went through VP downgrades this year generally...damn PGP! Mizuya Lounge at MB was also 6/5 Bonus (96.87%). The only 7/5 Bonus (98.01%) quarter bartops on the strip I can think of are at Casino Royale as Bellagio got rid of the other bank this year. :( But 6/5 Bonus is usually the safest bet for the being the "best" game at the quarter level for a Strip bartop. Most Strip casinos not named CET have 6/5 Bonus at some bar for quarters.

I'll adjust the sticky to say 6/5 for quarters and hope someone pleasantly surprises me with a pic of 7/5. Or even better yet, somehow get back to Vegas this spring so I can have a 90 Minute IPA there and see for myself! Thanks for the update!

You're probably right about the 6/5. I think we've gotten used to it between TAG, Chandelier, etc. I have another update for you, I'll post on the bartop thread. :)
