    My Trip Report

    Greetings Veeebeeeemrrrss

I enjoy reading the other TR's so I I thought I'd write one up myself for the upcoming solo trip. I'll attempt to do it live and am hoping to post lots of pics. This will be a blitz for me so not much sleep, lots of drinking and lots of gambling. I'm going to need help though! I've planned some stuff but the majority of this trip I want to wing it since I'm flying solo.

I'm staying at El Cortez for a 2 nights followed by the Mirage for my final night.

This trip will unload a lot of credit card reward points as I'm a modest churner and had plenty for the flight and room. My last night at Mirage is via MyVegas so all in all free room and flight. Any additional charges I'll redeem with points toward statement credit.

I'm flying Southwest out of Atlanta on Sunday morning. The 50 day rule held true as I booked around that time and snagged a direct round trip for $220. I have like 100,000 Marriott reward points so instead of driving (2 hours) in the morning I'm going up on Saturday and staying near the airport so I can sleep in a little longer and drive just a couple minutes.

That puts me in Vegas at 10:00 AM Vegas time so I'll have all of Sunday to hit the town and gamble.

    Here are my gambling preferences

    Blackjack 50%
    Video Poker/Roulette/3 Card Poker 30%
    Craps, Slots, Sportsbook, etc 20%

    Trip Goals

Try some great new food - Le Thai and Bocho Sushi are super close to ElCo
Win some cash and go shopping before I lose it
    Try some new drinks
    Hit up the Laundry Room
Grab a chocolate covered banana at Mermaids
    Walk the Strip
Maybe see some Cheap Standup Comedy
    Eat my ass off
    Drink my ass off

That's all for now. Packing pics to come later. Thanks for those joining the ride!

Looking forward to following this TR!

I love going downtown and low-rolling as well.

I recommend Flippin' Good Burgers (if you're walking from El Cortez to the FSE it's on the left) for a delicious and cheap burger. I always get the Farm Burger, which has a fried egg and bacon; It's one of my favorite burgers of all time.

You can wash it down with some Banger Brewing beer. I love the Morning Joe, which is a coffee kolsch.

I'll be curious to hear about Bocho sushi! I may try it on my May trip if it's good.

Enjoy the chocolate covered banana at Mermaid's! I just found out they're closing at the end of June :(

If you make it to the Harrah's area in the afternoon, the Mac King comedy magic show is a great value for $15 (with a "free" drink included)! A hidden gem in my opinion.

Thanks Sergi. I read Mermaid's was bought out but didn't realize they were closing. That's too bad. Didn't they just do major renovation s a few years back? I've seen Mac and really liked it. I'm wondering if there is any comedy downtown.

Curious to hear how you like the El Cortez. Did you reserve a tower room?

Yes I'm in a tower room with a king. Gambled there many times but never stayed at ElCo.

Bring your Spirit boarding pass (or confirmation number) to the players club desk within 24 hours of landing, and they will give you 2 $25 match play chips. I had good luck with mine, and won on both of them!

Same deal at the Golden Gate with Allegiant.

I've been staying at the El Cortez for the past 4 years and I have a room booked there in May for 4 nights.

I always stay in the Vintage rooms. My wife would NOT be happy with these rooms (But would live with it). I'm always there solo though so it doesn't matter.

I'm in love with the Vintage rooms myself. I love walking up the stairs to my room! You can't beat the price. I'm there every year and for being a low roller I always get the offer of no resort fee's and $15 food credit. My 4 nights next month Sun-Wed is only costing $72. This includes tax!

Ok time to test out tap talk pics with a packing update. I'm borrowing the wife's I pad and have rented "21" for tomorrow night and "Casino" for the plane ride. I'm also excited about this book I got which is about Steve Cyr, one of the greatest casino Hosts in the world. Got the Zippo full of fluid and last but not least pulling out my vintage Playboy blazer! [IMG]

I've heard a lot of good things about the vintage rooms and almost picked that style. I'm hoping to get up high away from the noise and maybe a decent view though with the tower room.

    What he said :thumbsup::thumbsup:

I stayed in a tower room once, very spacious but bathroom is to small for me. I'm 6'4" and shower head is at chest level.
