I was checking out the list of new slots for my upcoming trip. Although most of my play goes to the tried and true $1 - $5 WOF, Pinball and TD, I do like to play a game just for fun. The older themes I enjoyed such as Sex and the City, Clue, and The Hangover are becoming few and far between. They are being replaced with titles such as Sons of Anarchy, Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, Britaney Spears, etc. Being a bit, lets say, mature, I have not watched these shows. I'm not sure I would have fun if I have no clue who's who. I know there are many to choose from and I'm not worried about finding something to play.

    - Do you enjoy playing a tv/movie/character slot if you are not familiar with it?

    - Is there a particular sound in a machine that annoys you?
Mine is the sound similar to a horse galloping as the reels spin. I don't know why they put that in so many machines. It's not stopped me from playing, it just isn't my favorite.

    - Is there an aspect of a machine that would cause you not to play it?
I avoid machines that don't have pays triggered beyond the first reel. If it doesn't have a random bonus or a cherry, bonus symbol, etc. that can show up after reel 2 I will not sit down. I like watching and hoping. If all hope is gone with nothing lines up in the first 2 reels then I feel I haven't gotten my money's worth. I want hope until that last reel.

I have no clue about Game of Thrones, but the game is so fun. Also refuse to watch Lord of the Rings but love that game. Found Orange is the New Black at Palazzo ( love the show) and the game seemed pretty good, but it was surrounded by construction and we left fairly quick, need to find that game again. Gremlins is kinda cute, never liked the movie, though I like Gremlins, go figure.

I don't like 3 reel games at all. There was this stupid game, Caesars and Cosmo both had it, some ridiculous comet game, and Caesars had it crazy loud and it yells '2 more to the bonus' '1 more to the bonus' then explains the simple bonus game. Drove me wanky. I wont play where i can even hear that game. I don't like 7s or cherries games for some reason I don't understand.

It frustrates me when a game slows down the reels when you are close to getting a bonus game.
At home casinos, I won't play a game where I can't stop the reels. In vegas, I try not to do that because I can't just go home when I am done, so the money has to last haha.
I will move machines if the repeat bet button is not responsive enough, I don't like hitting the bet 2 etc. Like it's a huge difference, but what can I say?

Not a slot machine sound exactly, but I hate the sound that Keno makes on those multigame machines that also have VP on them. I like to play VP once in in a while, but sometimes I have to leave before I strangle the Keno player next to me that always have the volume on full blast. Bink, bink bink bink bink bink bink!! UGH! :grrr:

I don't like video slots where the display is like 5 rows and 5 columns and you fill up an entire row(s) or column(s) with the same symbol and don't win jack. Yeah I know if you look at the rules it shows you that the paylines are shaped like sideways Zs, it drives me nuts anyway.

EVERY BOX EXCEPT 4 ARE FILLED WITH THE DAMN SILLY LOOKING CHICKEN, NOW PAY ME!

Also the ones where the spinner wheel or whatever is like 8 feet up in the air, no I'm not looking up, I'll fall out of the damn chair!

Im sure you can still find plenty of older themed machines like

Grease, Dolly parton, back to the future, titanic, phantom of the opera, wonder woman, cheers, friends, ghostbusters, star trek, batman original series.......

I'll tell you right now...if the Buffalo game didn't make the sounds it made, I wouldn't play it. I crank the volume on those machines, it makes the play much more exciting. Otherwise, you're just pressing buttons in the hopes of winning. Oh wait, that's always the case :(

Generally speaking I hate playing any slot without sound on.

I really haven't played too many TV/movie slots if I wasn't familar with it first. They don't hold my attention for very long. The one I have played the most the last few years is "Family Guy", it's pretty hard to find now though.

-Do you enjoy playing a tv/movie/character slot if you are not familiar with it?

Not really. There has to be features that draw me in to make me play it anyway. That's why I fool around with the Walking Dead even though I avoid all entertainment mediums involving zombies. But I think the best themes end up being the ones that the slot manufacturers develop over the ones they license.

    - Is there a particular sound in a machine that annoys you?
The sound of alot of noise awarding two cents.

    - Is there an aspect of a machine that would cause you not to play it?

A game can have too many bonuses that keep you from getting any of them. I also hate games where you get a five of a kind and don't even get your minimum bet back.

I like the themed slots because of the music and graphics... and some bonus rounds are fun or the clips they play but i believe these slots also have the worst odds. I have seen some big hits on them (not by me of course) but most of the time you're lucky to get your bet back on what looks like a good win. You bet $1 and get back 30 cents. This is the reason i dont play them much. Sometimes playing games where you have no clue whats going on or which characters are good is fun and a nice surprise when you do win something decent.

I hate people who crank the volume. No sounds really annoy me except when its super loud and you can't hear your own machine or talk to someone next to you.

Not sound related but what does annoy me or determine what machine im going to play, is if there is a smoker who insists on blowing their smoke in my direction or holding their cig in the hand closest to me. I will take loud machines over that anyday.

You don't want to be between my wife and I. She smokes and I crank the volume as high as possible.

-Do you enjoy playing a tv/movie/character slot if you are not familiar with it?
Not particularly no. The only exception so far is Game of Thrones (I didn't watch the show past the 1st season; but I enjoy the bonus variety on the slot game!).

Otherwise I enjoy Sex & The City or the Britney Spears slot because I get the character references; enjoy the video clips; and in the case of Britney or MJ - get free music to jam to while I play!

    - Is there a particular sound in a machine that annoys you?
That goddamn hoof-clopping noise! I never play those slots (I find it's on the older Aristocrat slots).

Otherwise just the noise of credits counting up (like on a keno machine?) that drives me nuts.

    - Is there an aspect of a machine that would cause you not to play it?
Hmm good question. Typically I play themed penny slots (Sex & The City; Goldfish; Ellen) because there are a variety of bonuses and they tend to hit frequently. Other machines that I find that don't offer a variety of bonuses/user interaction I migrate away from.

Or if someone was smoking and had ash flying/sitting all over the machine and accompanying area; I might just move to another bank.

-Do you enjoy playing a tv/movie/character slot if you are not familiar with it?
I always play Game of Thrones but I don't watch the show. I don't watch Walking Dead either, but I'm not quite as itchy to play it, mostly because I rarely win on it!

    - Is there a particular sound in a machine that annoys you?
I watched a slot video of someone playing the new Titanic slot. It looked promising so I played it. The music was so sappy I couldn't stand it and had to stop. Volume was broken or something and it was cranked. Again, haven't seen Titanic either, I swear I am not totally off the grid!

    - Is there an aspect of a machine that would cause you not to play it?
Not winning is one. I couldn't figure out HOW to play Caveman Keno the one time I tried. I don't know if the machine was broke or I'm just that dense. So that was a big part of my not playing it LOL

-Do you enjoy playing a tv/movie/character slot if you are not familiar with it? I will try anything if it looks fun! Doesn't have to be something I'm familiar with.

    - Is there a particular sound in a machine that annoys you? Not so much a sound, but I don't like the machines that shake (always turn that feature off). Also, if there are too many flashy lights, it's not my thing. There are these machines on the way from Harrah's to Casino Royale which I call the "seizure machines". I can't even look at those things. Oh wait- come to think of it, I hate the horn sound on Jackpot Party...but maybe I hate it so much because I have NEVER won on those things!

    - Is there an aspect of a machine that would cause you not to play it? If I lose! If there are sketchy people around, I'll leave, too.

    - Do you enjoy playing a tv/movie/character slot if you are not familiar with it?
If i haven't seen the movie/show, I tend not to play. With that said, last trip I played Sharknado and enjoyed it. Not sure if it was because of the cute girls on the machine.

    - Is there a particular sound in a machine that annoys you?
Yeah, when the bonus round finishes and I won 3 cents from a $5 spin and the machine says "Great win!!!". That really annoys me to no end.

    - Is there an aspect of a machine that would cause you not to play it?
Those machines with weird layouts on their screen.

I know....wtf is that anyway? I never hear anybody winning anything.....just the non-stop annoying bink, bink, bink. And the people I see playing it look like they're falling asleep:rolleyes2:

Not really annoying, but incredibly cheesy and tacky is that recorded "clank clank clank" of coins when you cash out.

It adds insult to injury when you cash out that last seven cents because the minimum spin is 30 and it tries to sound like a whole bucket being dispensed!

If I don't know the show, or don't like the musician, then I don't play the slot. Period. After that it takes fun bonuses and decent payouts to keep me around.

I really don't like it when the machine next to me is so loud I can't hear my own. If that happens I go somewhere else.

It's the marking of a "Caveman Keno" card. Each game has 20 dink, donk, dink, donks for your listening pleasure. [emoji6]

Ironically the first time I tried it for one quarter, I hit 7 of 10 for $20. Lol
