Looking for info on the Plaza pool. Updates on the construction and/or pics of the construction. We will be there in late June. Love the vibe when we spent a few hours there and looking forward to our first downtown stay. We are only planning on eating, drinking, gambling and sitting poolside this trip. In the past we always wanted to see as much as we could. Like shows, Hoover Dam, thrill rides and last time we went horse back riding in the desert. It's all been fun but poolside, a book and a drink is all we need this time. So it would be very disappointing if the pool was not done by the time we get there.

    Thanks

Also this is my first post

I've heard "hopefully may" from phone opporators and June from plaza folks around here. Sometime around there is expect but construction is notorious for going long, though I'd love for it to be open for my Memorial Day weekend trip

It'll be exactly like that except for the crowds of people.

Yes that was a shot.

I'm not happy about today's news about Dr. Yolla elsewhere here on VMB.

When I was there week before last I talked with the project manager. He said they are shooting for sometime in June, but definitely by July 4th. Sounds decent - new stainless steel pool (same space as old one), tennis courts, basketball court, volleyball court, and stage.

I'll guess probably September. (I know what the press releases say and have read the above comments...but September is still my guess.

Did they make the pool smaller? I thought that the pool looked larger before.

I can't help of think of the failed beer garden schedule. So if the project manager is saying July 4th, I'd hope for Labor Day.

No..I think it is the same.
I was hoping they would get rid of the stupid tennis courts and use that area for seating, and make the pool LARGER.

The Plaza really needs to save those tennis courts
    and basketball court.
There is such high demand for those two activities -
especially on a roof with a view !
In the 10 visits I've stayed at The Plaza --
I've seen two people in street clothes - slapping a beach ball back + forth
    in that area.
Management really needs to save that space - especially with Pool renovation
    going on.

The old Plaza pool used to be deep at one end.

Here's a bird's eye view photo of the pool I received last week. The pool will definitely be open in June! We'll have a huge event to commemorate our Plaza rooftop pool's reopening, and hope to see you all on opening day!

Thanks everyone for you pics and thoughts. I am felling less comfortable now that this project will be done for our trip at the end of June. But still holing out hope.

I am hoping that it is open for our June trip. It doesn't look overly promising though so I am looking at booking The Grand so we get some pool time.

My wife emailed the Plaza and was told it would be done by Memorial Day with a grand opening over the 4th of July. We will be there the week before the 4th. Fingers crossed that it will be done.
