Terrace Suite @ Cosmopolitan - opinions wanted

Looks like I'll be heading into LV in July to catch the JLo concert and am trying to secure a comp room at Cosmo; I don't have any play history there but have been offered a Terrace Suite. Is that something that I should be excited about? I know nothing about the hotel or their rooms. Your thoughts are appreciated.

May I ask you why you got that offer? I mean if it's no comp for playing?

My opinion: take it. Rooms, atmosphere and location is great.

 

I'm using a third party host who is getting me a comped room just based on my ADT at other properties.

So you have a history at other properties not combined with the Cosmopolitan?
As I would think no host would comp something in forehand without any serious expectations, would one?

Sorry I have to ask, I'm just getting into the terms like ADT and everything.

 

It's a nice room, it's equivalent to a Corner Suite at Aria, but with the fountain view terrace.

The next step up would be a Wraparound Suite. The Terrace Suite is getting popular enough that on some dates it's priced higher than a non-fountain view Wraparound.

I'm guessing the comp value is about $200/night during the week and $300+ on weekends. It's a decent comp for no play history.

 

All Terrace Suites face north, so they are all fountain view. It is our favorite room at Cosmopolitan by far!!!

They have a kitchen (not that we ever used it), full sized fridge, but half taken up by mini-bar items, living room, a full bath off the bedroom and a 3/4 bath when you enter the room, a great large balcony with 2 comfy chairs and ottomans, and I believe they were full size washer and dryer (again, not something we would use, but an FYI).

 

Agree with others, its a great suite and if you are not planning to host a party i prefer it over the wraparound. Also as mentioned they all come with great views of B fountain from the west tower.

 

I love the terrace suites; the terraces put Cosmo above the rest imo. On casino down time, it is wonderful to sit on the terrace with a drink and soak up the sights and sounds of Vegas.

Is there a difference between a room in the west tower versus the east tower?

 

Then lucky you - there right now! We stayed in a terrace ou train view suite - early March but didn't realize there was a 2nd bath til the 2nd night, lol!
Also did not see any washer/dryer - but several doors were locked - could be they don't allow access anymore??

Anyway we were on 45th floor West Tower and had absolutely fantastic fountain and north strip views!

 

The East Tower is closer to the Strip, so

1. If you're walking to the Strip. it's a shorter walk from the elevators to the strip. Conversely, it's a longer walk to the bell/valet/taxis. which are located near the West Tower elevators

2. The angle of the view to the fountains is different

The room appointments are the same in both towers. All of the Terrace Suite rooms are in the West tower. The single best room view is going to be a Wraparound on a high floor on the northeast corner of the East tower .

 

All terrace suites are in west tower!

I think you are misstaken the terrace suites with another room type, a 1 bedroom or terrace studio maybe? Or did they add rooms to the east tower lately that i don't know about? I know they were talking about adding rooms to the top floors but i thought that only applied to high end suites with no balconies.

 

You are right. I am in a wraparound terrace suite and I am using that interchangeably with the terrace suite. Sorry, didn't mean to confuse the thread

 

Not to mention you can see further down the strip in most east tower terrace rooms. Personally I prefered ET the few times I stayed as Cosmo. Regardless which tower you stay in, you still want a north facing room. The City view ones are less desirable, however with Harmon tower now down. The east tower has some decent views of the south strip.

 

You can't really see "further" down the strip from a north-facing East Tower room, but you can see a little more (ie you can see part of PHo).

If you're in a Terrace Suite, the East Tower obstructs part of the view to the East. You can't see Pho, but you can still see Paris and the Eiffel Tower.
