What are the advantages, to an end-user, of Tap-A-Talk?

I understand that Tap-A-Talk is very popular among VMB users, and I've seen it mentioned on another forum I go to sometimes (not LV-related).

Anyways, I was just perusing the T-A-T site, and the description didn't strike me as particularly beneficial to me. I have an iPhone 6+, and can upload photos just fine.
Is it that much easier on T-A-T?

It does seem to be beneficial to the fora owners where users employ it:

    • Increase your audience/members
    • Get your content App-Indexed to improve your SEO rankings
    • Grow your revenue (and avoid Ad Blocking apps)

I'm sure the revenue generated, regardless of amount, helps with maintenance costs.
    Do you use it?
Do you find it easier to upload content than your phone's native camera interface?
Why would you recommend it to someone else?

It's just easier to access and use the forum on TAT that on a mobile browser.

I agree tapatalk is easier on my phone, a Galaxy S4. It's very easy to post pictures in particular.

Not to mention the ability to subscribe and follow multiple sites, set message notifications, subscribe to threads, private messages, single sign on to multiple boards, etc. Basically its a one stop shop, rather then having to follow board email notifications, logging into sites etc.
Unless you are following a community forum with really really really good mobile site integration. Most internet base forums are using base templates bundled with freeware or hosting offerings. Not all of them pay for custom mobile sites unless
they are generating enough operating revenue or are funded thru some other means.

For live reports Tapatalk is so valuable. I wouldn't report live without it.

I have a Galaxy Note4, and I've never used TapATalk...I find just using the Chrome browser and uploading pictures with ImgUR a whole lot easier (and it doesn't change the dimensions of the hi-res photo's to fit within the T-A-T server, or the VMB server)

+1. Live TRs are so much easier with Tapatalk. For me that is the best feature without a doubt.

Agree. Great for live trip reports and easy to use. I use tapatalk on my iPad to do 98% of my forum reading. (vmb and a cruise forum)

It provides a consistent layout between forums so if a site has a less than optimal mobile site it's easier to navigate. 90% of my viewing is coming from tapatalk.

As a forum owner, I can answer a few of those questions. I do get a few bucks a month from TT, but not enough to make it balance against the negative aspects of sending your traffic away to a 3rd party. It does help with some google ranking as it counts as having a "mobile version" for SEO purposes. I haven't noticed an uptick in registrations connected to Tapatalk as most people were existing members who installed it from recommendations here to use it for live TR's.

I would prefer not to use it. However, the current software doesn't have a workable mobile version and posting photos and live TRs was difficult for many. I think the mobile version of the new software is going to be wonderful for live TRs, but people are used to TT and the feedback I got showed that people want me to keep it, so I will for now.
