Is it a mistake to leave my express comp dollars sitting there?

I usually get everything comped on the backend, in addition to the upfront comps of course. I haven't needed to use my Express comp dollars. I have like1k sitting there for a over a year. Now all of a sudden my Mlife spring offers (corporate and property specific) have much less resort credits, but freeplay is pretty much the same. Is this what others are referring to that Mlife is cutting back, or that they see me having all that express comps sitting there and wanting me to use them?

I have $1,800 and IMO it hasn't affected my offers.

They might eventually factor banked ECs into your offers, but I don't think they do it yet.

The main reason to spend down your ECs each trip is:
    1. You never really know if you'll be back in time to keep them alive
    2. They're sitting ducks for devaluation

No, you keep them and hope someday they will allow you to spend them on retail :) I know. It will never happen. I am going to blow a few of mine in May getting a massage at an M Life property even though I'm staying at the Cosmo. I do plan on giving Bellagio some play this trip as well, so they will know I'm there anyway.

Due to this thread, I decided to look at what MLIFE offer on their express comps....well, it seems that they changed the rules in December 2015 anyway...making Express Comps only attainable through slot play (and I'm a table player). DAMN..... Mind you, I've never even spent any of these express comps anyway. I think I keep losing them. As per the OP, I rely on things being taken care of in advance and at the end. However, if I could spend these dollars on something tangible to take away, then that would be great.

The worker at the Mlife booth at Gold Strike told me that as a Sapphire player, my EC's would expire after 6 months of inactivity. Apparently Pearl status and above has different rules regarding expiration. If you are Sapphire, and are not sure you will play at a MGM property, it would probably be wise to exhuast EC's when you are able.

Yea, I have close to $2k. I keep trying to spend them, but we just do not eat enough fancy dinners (damn tip can kill ya). We have seen most of the shows and usually get at least one comped. We could do more spa stuff. We have done cabanas and stuff to try to use them up.

I do worry they will someday become worth almost nothing. Or we no longer go to Vegas.

I checked the MLife website and that's correct, not sure when they changed it. Makes sense if they want to wipe them off the books, since a Sapphire level is probably likely to make fewer trips to a casino.

A member's accumulated points and Express Comps may be subject to forfeiture if the member's M life account does not reflect any activity (which means earning points or earning Tier Credits) for a period of six (6) months for Sapphire Members or a period of twelve (12) months for Pearl, Gold, Platinum and NOIR Members.

You can use them against your hotel bill.
