Do you bother with noise complaints?

When I'm in Vegas, or New Orleans for that matter, I don't bother filing noise complaints against hotel neighbors unless it's truly ridiculous. After all, I choose to visit these hard partying cities, so I I'll accept the consequences of that decision. If it's solitude and quiet that I crave, I'm welcome to book a trip to any number of far less boisterous locations. So unless I'm genuinely worried that a crime is taking place, or if the people are deliberately pounding on my wall rather than just being generically loud, I'll let it go.

How do you handle situations like that?

Its an unwritten rule. i dont say anything about them and they dont say anything about me. i also am always put on the partying floor for some reason.

usually its basketball teams in all the other rooms or one time it was a mix of basketball players and bikers, odd combo but we all still had alot of fun.

 

I do assume Vegas is a party city. That being said...I have complained once. Flamingo 2007. Room next door had music blaring at 4 pm...ok, 11 pm...ok....3 am....not okay....10 am okay....4pm.....4 am I've had it...called front desk and security took care of it. I gave them 2 days...music every time was at full blast shaking my walls. I had had enough.

 

Unless it's super over the top, no. It's a party city. And I'm usually drunk so I'll fall asleep quickly.

Once in all my trips have I had to call down to the desk. That was at NYNY. Palazzo is usually pretty quiet.

 

A slamming door once or twice? No (and it's usually impossible to tell where it's coming from). But ongoing loud noise esp a party? Hell yes I'll call the front desk. My past many trips to Vegas have been for business. You want to be loud - do it in the casino or a night club. Up in the hotel at 1 am? I need my sleep.

That said, I've had fewer problems in Vegas than in other cities, so go figure.

 

In all the years i've been to Vegas, i've only complained twice. Last year at the Monte Carlo when my neighbors kids started screaming, yelling and running around the room at 5am.jAfter i called Security, i heard their phone ring and it immediately stopped.
and a few years ago, we were given a room on the Pet Friendly floor. Our neighbors had a pair of dogs that barked non-stop. After an hour we called down to the desk and they upgraded us to a so-called suite for free.

Vegas is all about noise, so i'm not touchy about it. I'll sleep when i go home.

 

I fall asleep in less than 5 minutes from when my head hits the pillow and then I sleep like a log so noise has to be really bad before it would effect me. That being said, once or twice I have had to call the front desk to get the neighbors to shut up.

 

Only complained once, years ago at the El Cortez. We had a tower room and around midnight a room near us had a boombox blasting and must have had their door open as I could hear people yelling over the music. So I call the front desk and they ask me what room is the party in and I tell them I don't know, it might be next door or down the hall a bit.

Ten minutes later they send security up and when they guy is right outside our door his radio announces at FULL VOLUME..."WE HAD A NOISE COMPLAINT CALLED IN FROM ROOM 1410" which was our room. I thought "Great, after security tells these clowns to quiet down they may torch my room now that they know who complained."

So now I would likely try to ride it out

 

Fortunately it's never been that bad. The worse I've seen was idiots running down the hall pounding on all the doors but they went away and I didn't hear another peep. It would have to be pretty out of control and violent in some way for me to feel I had to call.

 

I bring earplugs, nothing bothers me

 

I tend to overlook and say hey I'm here for same as them fun...if it gets to loud I have no prob calling security..

 

Having spent many, many nights at the Hard Rock with early morning meetings to attend, I feel like I've seen and heard it all. Fortunately for me, I can sleep with a chain-saw being used right next to me. There have been times when neighbors have been visited by Security, as the other neighbors don't seem to have the same "tolerance" that I do. Constant noise doesn't bug me, but often my neighbors come in at 3 or 4 a.m., slam doors, crank up the music to keep the party goin'. That sucks... but it's the price I pay for staying at a party hotel in a party city!

 

I've called security or knocked on doors a few times. Seems some folks head to Vegas just to hang out in their room all day and night. Called security at the Wynn when the person next door decided to crank opera music at 3am. That was quickly dealt with.

 

Ha ha..yea point taken opera music..lol

 

Fortunately, this has never been an issue for me. I suppose if it was excessively loud for a long period I would have absolutely zero problem calling the front desk. If it's just headboard banging it's no big deal.......it'll be over and done with in ten minutes.

 

We have had problems twice at MGM -- both time we were in a Grand King -- with a connecting door -- I now know that I will always request a non connecting room. Once it was a screaming baby -- all day and all night -- we asked to change rooms the next day -- no problems after that.

The second time involved girls next door -- I don't think it was a party per say -- but a gaggle of hens who could only talk by yelling at each other -- we ended up calling security this was way after midnight -- they left the room before security arrived. Then they returned around 5 am and started yapping loudly endlessly. My husband banged on the door and yelled to keep it down. They got quiet for about 15 minutes. We got up early went to breakfast and asked to be moved to a non connecting room.

I think people should be respectful. If you want to party like a High Roller rent a penthouse suite. If not keep it down after midnight.

 

Ditto about the connecting rooms. We had a group of guys who weren't raging partying but loud. Didn't complain. This last trip we had the couple who would fight so hard one would get escorted out then come back sober. They'd get drunk again and start over. At one point in the first fight I thought he might hit her and I had my hand near the phone but then security came because she ran out of the room and got them. By the second fight we realized it was mutual verbal combat and neither one was going to actually hit the other. We were leaving the next morning so we just rolled our eyes and turned on the tv.

 

HA! Love the odd hours bit, it's part of why I love Vegas. Heck, people on "normal hours" are probably the ones on an odd schedule in Vegas!
