Except for walking in and making a NFL bet, I spend no time in any sports book.

My bartender friend considers me the expert on all things Vegas and he is already planning for 2017 March Madness. He asked me if it is possible to reserve seats in the book when making room reservations? Is it and where?

He also asked for recommendations for the best sports book for March Madness on the Strip with room prices $200 or below. they want to be there for the opening round next year.

I'm a downtown guy, so help me out in keeping my Vegas expert status. :wink2:

The short answer is yes. If your friend wants to reserve a seta in the book (not one of the MM parties) I know of two ways to do it. I have done it multiple times by going through my host. The other way I have seen it done was a friend whose wife works for a travel agency. She had some pull at Bellagio and was able to get us a couple reserved seats. If your friend doesn't have a host or some other connection, he is probably out of luck.

As for cheap Strip hotels, none of them have great sportsbooks. Of the cheaper places, I like the book at Harrahs best

For the NFL divisional playoffs my friend was able to reserve a couch at the Bellagio through his host. The only condition was a $200 dollar food and beverage minimum per person which wasn't really an issue when a Jack and Coke and $11. Like UKFan said, without a host or connection I would imagine it would be difficult to do, especially for March Madness.

I don't like to say "never" but it is highly unlikely that any sports book will reserve seats for low-rollers, especially for March Madness. Your best bet would likely be Lagasse's at Palazzo which does take reservations year-round. On the other hand, many casinos open up a ballroom and throw a MM party, and lots of restaurants and sports bars do the same. In any case, expect to spend a lot.
