Do the William Hill sports books take non-sports bets?

William Hill is somewhat legendary in the UK for offering "novelty" bets of sorts. I'm wanting to place a political bet that I couldn't place here in Canada.

Would I be able to place the same bets at a William Hill sports book in Vegas, as I would be able to in the UK or on WH's website? Or is it sports only?

 

Sports only. No politics bet or oscar bets in the states.

Though Olympics this summer should be on the board, that is new.

 

Man, that's insane. Out of interest, do you know if it's the law, or just a business decision?
