In your opinion which Boyd property in Vegas gives you the best comps? My is The Orleans. I always get comped nights at Orleans but get nothing from MSS. Thinking of giving Sam's Town some play next trip to see what they offer.

MSS is our home casino, so almost all comps come from there. Did some play at Sams last time and did get some comped nights on calendar, but 2 out of 3 were pay. On becoming sapphire, did get 3 nights at any property, but not going the month available

My wife and I are Sapphire level with Boyd. We prefer to stay and play at Suncoast, but they do not comp rooms easily. Suncoast seems to have the most in-house "surprise-play" offers that the other Vegas properties don't offer -- VP bonuses for quads, suited blackjack entries to contests, etc.

Orleans usually comps our stays and offers various comped tournaments throughout the year. The prize banquet with entertainment after a slot tournament last year was excellent. Some years ago Orleans invited us to major concerts in their arena -- Joe Cocker opened for the Steve Miller Band one time.

But Sam's Town seems to offer the weekend stays that include dinner and a show (typically a big band or some musical entertainer) that are a nice change from constant gambling. All in all, for our level of play, Boyd offers us the best value of enticements to continue patronizing their properties.

Gold Coast's offers have not enticed us recently. We rarely venture downtown.

    Sams Town, hands down.
however, if you're strictly a craps or BJ player...be prepared to bet greens, to get noticed.

I almost made a new thread but instead I will marginally hijack this one: How do Boyd properties rate on table games? I found the slot and VP numbers but wasn't sure. I want to try to play at MSS some when I'm in Vegas in a couple weeks and if they don't value VP and slots a lot more, Ill stick to those. Thanks for any help.

Mine has been Orleans but I really only go to Orleans and Gold Coast. I thought my playing history was better with Gold Coast but I may be wrong. I've been to SunCoast once and didn't take to it. I haven't been downtown long enough to get them to offer me much.

I'd like to chime in and say that the Boyd properties in Vegas are pretty generous in comps in relation to play. Except the Suncoast. For some reason the Suncoast is a little harder to generate free rooms and other comps like freeplay and meals.

I play table games mostly and my average bet (according to them) is $30.00 per hand. I play craps mostly but will also play VP and slots for entertainment.

I average about 6 hrs. of gambling per day and typically generate between 25 to 30K of coin-in over a 4 to 5 day period.

I wouldn't be noticed much if I were on the Strip but for this kind of play I currently get offered 4 free nights any day of the week with $50.00 freeplay. I used to get food credit but somehow that disappeared. These offers are for the California/Fremont/MSS downtown.

For very minimal play (I visit only once during a trip and gamble less than 300 dollars) the Orleans and Gold Coast sends me offers for 2 nights (only weekdays) all the time. I stay at the Orleans on extended trips and utilize their 2 night offer and then finish up the trip downtown.

Edit to add: I don't get any offers from Sam's Town. I hardly play there but I do utilize the Sam Town shuttle to get to and from the Strip. I might go inside to play a little when the busses are off schedule but usually I'll just get off the Downtown bus and hop right on the Strip bus. And vice versa heading back!

But I did learn on this board that they are very generous with comps for relatively small play. Maybe someone will chime in to add more information.

I am not a Boyd expert, Joe is. TIMSPEED also.
My own experience is your "home casino" give you the best comp. For me, it's Gold Coast.
