We recently met my 21 year old son and his girlfriend for a week in Vegas. We spent a couple hours wandering down Fremont Street with them and taking in the sights. My husband and I usually go straight from one casino to the other without really noticing what's going on in the street, so it was fun to go with newbies. I had forgotten how entertaining just walking the street could be!

I have one more set, I just need to load them.

Rescuing a stuck zipliner. Great view of Fremont Street from the front rooms at Golden Gate.

Thank you gambler, really enjoyed the pictures! My Wife and I were Downtown recently and found it a bit more pleasant to walk and stroll under the Canopy this time. Maybe because of the new ordinance on staying within the circles? This must cut down on the number of performers (and beggars) under the Canopy.

    Thanks again for sharing!

Yup- brings back memories of Fremont! I did see the contortionist in the V- the Ultimate Variety Show. I could not watch him!

Thanks for the pics, Gambler! What's not to love about downtown?!?! My trip is coming up and every day I find I get a little more LV obsessed (it's driving my bf crazy) !

Where are the topless nuns (wearing pasties)? Also glad that you didn't post a pic of "diaper man", he is gross.

    thanks for the pics!

I know the LV "Street People" get a lot of negative comments. But I rather enjoy the whole vibe. It's things like these that make Las Vegas so unique. Enjoy the sights!

You know makiki, we didn't see diaper man this trip. I looked too because I wanted to point him out.

I only took pictures of the performers my son stopped to look at. There were LOTS of girls running around mostly naked with pasties on but I think it actually must of made him and his gf uncomfortable because they never stopped to look. That's the beauty of Fremont, you can look at what you like and ignore the rest.

The circles seem to be helping down there. I wasn't asked once for tips (although some of them really do deserve tips) and since the performers can't leave their circle, they can't chase you down.

Looking at the pics later, I also realized how clean the streets were. We had a great time hanging out on Fremont. I can never understand when people say it's unsafe or dirty down there. They wash the street every morning and there are plenty of cops and security patrolling the street. It's all good!

Great picks, I never noticed the neon golden gate bridge on the GG sign!

I too saw someone get stuck on the zip line, rescue is very quick.

Thanks for the pics. :) With those circles, it got me thinking - was that the end of the KISS foursome? No way they'd all fit inside that small a diameter!

I agree 100% about downtown. Quite I found the strip to be more off putting this trip than downtown.
The circles have IMHO worked as intended and certainly the publicized violent incidents on the strip certainly are not good for the town.

Thanks for posting the pictures. We just got back last night from 4 nights at MSS.

I totally agree the circles have made a great big difference on the FSE. I also totally agree with the false perception that Fremont Street is unsafe and dirty. IT'S NOT!!

I checked my records and 2016 marks our 19th year staying exclusively downtown at MSS after giving up on the Strip. And every trip I have to stop and listen to the sax player. I'm having a brain fart and can't remember his name at the moment, but I know somewhere we have one of his CDs.

BTW, 2016 will mark the 20th anniversary of MSS.

I agree. He's still better than diaper man though! Hopefully the diaper guy is gone.

Joe, I've heard you mention the sax guy before and always wondered where he was. This is actually the first time I've ever noticed him! Just goes to show you how focused my husband and I are when heading to other casinos. It's been years since we've taken the time to "stroll" Fremont. Isn't his name Carl Ferris?

    V (207).jpg

And I love the photo bomb here. I was so focused on the pirates that I didn't even see the cop in the background till I got home.
