Anyone been here recently? Yelp has great reviews. It's the location at the mall in front of the Wynn.

I haven't been to that location in years but have never had a bad experience at any Capital Grille location nationwide.

With that said, I don't want to start another what is the best steak in Vegas but I can assure you there is better than Capital Grille. My favorite is SW at Wynn or Delmonico at V/P and they are many other strip steakhouses are better than Capital Grille IMHO.

Nothing wrong with Capital Grille but as KLaw said, there are better places to me. I like the quirkier places where maybe the food isn't the absolute best but there is a certain shtick that I like. Capo's Speakeasy, Steak House at Circus Circus, Golden Steer, Foundation Room, and so on...

I've eaten at the one in Pittsburgh, and it's nothing special. I much prefer Ruth's Chris.

The one that we have here in DC is superior to anything else in the city (steak-wise).

I know, very helpful im sure.

Funny. In providence a Ruth Chris opened up a block away from capital grille. Lead to a very brief battle, which Ruth Chris lost horribly. Once they closed, capital grille ended up moving into Ruth Chris's space since it was much newer and a better location.

Ate at the Vegas Capital Grille about 6 months ago - everything was excellent. Ate at the one in Dallas for Valentine's Day; same experience.

My first (and only) experience at the Capital Grille was at the Minneapolis location years ago when I was much younger and inexperienced. I had never been to a restaurant so fancy and it led to a few faux pas which didn't make my wife happy (she has much more fine dining experience than I do). When I was growing up, going out for a nice steak meant Applebee's.

First, I didn't understand that the sides were supposed to be shared (and when I looked at the prices, I 'yelled' at my wife under my breath that for 'these prices, I should be able to get my own f*#$ing side dish. They had like 8 to choose from and I told my better half I could go with any of these 5 but of course she wanted two of the remaining 3. (We rarely agree on food).

Second, I like steak sauce on my steak. Always have, always will. I was scolded by my wife that asking for steak sauce would be an insult to the chef. I said, 'not if I ask when I order the damn thing. It's not like I am tasting it and then going EWWW this needs steak sauce.' I did order it and they brought it very discreetly in a plastic dipping cup.

The service was outstanding, however, which led to my favorite facebook post of all time:

    (Begin sarcastic tone):

I dropped my napkin, and they brought me another one right away.

My fork fell on the floor and they had a new fork to me in a matter of seconds.

I pushed my wife off her chair but I guess they were out of those!

    (End Sarcastic Tone)

I agree with the others that there are likely better restaurants in Vegas or more uniquely Vegas restaurants (you can go to a Capital Grille in most major cities), so I'd go elsewhere but if you choose to go there, you probably will enjoy it!

Visited the Troy, MI location of Capital Grille in December. It was a first-class experience all the way. They really take care of you.

Of course, it's not cheap.... but that's what Vegas winnings are for! :wink2:

Went to the Capital Grille in LV about a year and a half ago. Fantastic food and service as always. If you are making a reservation ask to sit by the window for a great view of the strip.

I ate at the one at Fashion Show Mall about a year ago. Seated by the windows, which was nice. Service was fine, steak was fine, oysters were tasteless. It's a little bit of a pain in the ass to get to as compared to a steakhouse located in the middle of a hotel/casino.

Sorry but I have to disagree! I have eaten at Ruth's Chris a number of times and been extremely disappointed every time! I have never had a bad meal at any Capital Grille I have gone to.
