    My Trip Report

    Today is the day I've been looking forward to for about a month. My last trip I recouped all of my losses in 10 minutes at the craps table (with my bag at my feet), so it's like I never went. That's the justification for this trip anyway. Oh, and it is work related too. Well kinda, sorta. I'm going to try to avoid the slots as much as possible, sticking only to craps. Normally I play pretty aggressively for my bank roll, so I've been known to flame out. This trip is longer than most of my trips, so I am going to try a slow burn to stretch my bankroll. I understand that I am less likely to hit is really big, but I will get to play longer if the tables are cold.

    The plane leaves at 8 and arrives in Vegas at 9 local time. Hope to be at the craps table by 10:15. No other big plans, but since I am meeting some folks there, I expect a good meal or two and some fun times.

    Here is what we are trying to avoid...

    That picture pretty much sums up our recent trips to Vegas. We went down in a blaze of glory playing craps then drank the pain away. The picture almost made the entire trip worthwhile... almost. I am trying to get some work done, but I am having a hard time focusing. I looked into taking an earlier flight, but it was an extra $400.00. I can wait... I can wait... I can wait. In the meantime, I will tell you my favorite slot story, one I have seen repeated on the boards from time to time. Last year or so, while in Vegas at the Mirage, I took a nose dive in the first hour at the craps table. Lost most of my $ for the trip, so I went to the room, took a short nap and a shower to regroup. I decided I would play penny slots to pass some time. I sat down at one, put in my $100.00 and on the first spin I got bonus spins for 1800 credits or so. Halfway through the bonus spins, I realized that it was a $1 machine, with a $75.00 pull, not a .01 machine with a .75 pull. Back in the game baby!!!

    Hopefully I will have some good chip porn coming your way soon.

    I bet the pass line and some come bets. I always have some money on 6&8 and I have been known to place all of the numbers from time to time. I love the All Tall Small bonus bet, so I am particularly excited about this trip to Caesar's, since the have the ATS bonus bet now, from what I understand. I press pretty hard once I am up a little bit. I avoid the center of the table for the most part, rarely placing a hard way.

    On the ATS, if we are a number away from hitting the All, I used to heavily bet that number, just to make it more exciting. I figure I already hit either the Tall or Small, so I can double down on the missing number. However, last trip someone was hedging their bets, laying the missing number. It is a very conservative approach, but I do like the idea of a guaranteed payday. Of course this only work for point numbers. Anyone have any thoughts?

    I'm waiting for my flight but things are breaking my way so far. Very little traffic, easy parking spot, no line to check in, 5 people in line at security, got my mini crown bottles through security AND got carded at the bar. I'm sure they are carding everyone, but I'll take it. image.jpeg image.jpeg

    I love flying into Vegas at night. Nothing like the lights of Vegas. We had a good flight and landed a few minutes early. On the plane ride I was able to write down a few goals.

    1) Limit slot losses to $100.00;
    2) Track my average bet, time at the table and TCs so I know what gets what;
    3) Hit 2500 TC in one day (promotional day for the 5K bonus);
    4) Attend all of the conference sessions I'm scheduled to attend;
    5) Ask for back end comps for the first time;
    6) Track P&L for each session
    7) Have at least one great meal

    Hopefully the Live TR will keep me focused.

    First craps session was a success, despite a rough start. Typical late buy in drew the SO two times in a row. I couldn't handle the vibe at that table, so I moved to another one. We hit 3 of the all bets, but no all all. I picked up $700 on the all bets, but don't want to know what I had invested. We were 1 number away from all all twice. The table heated up at the end with a great roll right before I left. I had $250 in front of me when he started rolling. I walked with $2k, up 1k for the night. Average bet was 110 over 2.5 hrs.

    Good night.

    Mirage definitely has some sneaky higher denom video slots on the main floor that will get you if you're not paying attention. Sometimes you get lucky though and hit something right away!

    I'm still alive. Tables have been choppy but generally poor. Except for the first night, nothing good to report. The Live TR takes more energy than you would think. I'll post more soon.
