Need help planning birthday dinner

My husband and I will be in Vegas this year for my 50th birthday and I'm trying to decide where we can go out for dinner that night. We like most all foods, but he does have an allergy to all shellfish, so a strictly seafood place is out of the question. It's easy to look online and check menus, and look for reviews, but I have one problem, we will not be "dressing up" for dinner. While we're on vacation we don't like to dress up. It's a little harder to figure out dress codes based on websites. I'm thinking he'll have on khakis and a polo shirt, so I'll probably go with capris and a nice top. As far as budget I'd say about $150 or so, no drinks with dinner. Thanks for the help and I hope this is enough to go on.

 

Ain't but a few spots in Vegas gonna turn away khakis and a polo, so no worries.

I've been pretty smitten with Bardot Brasserie at Aria lately. If you forgo dessert and booze/wine, $150 should cover the tab, no problem (if you meant $150 per, then go hog wild). It's a nice space. But you certainly won't feel out of place in khakis and a polo (or whatever the female equivalent is).

 

Was going to suggest one of the steakhouses but $150 may not do....How about Mon Ami Gabi next door at Paris? Get a patio table to watch the fountains & people....they have good steaks & fantastic French onion soup. Budget should not be an issue here....

 

I'll look into this one, I meant around $150 total. Part of my Vegas birthday trip is flying first class from Atlanta, so I don't want to be greedy

I've heard good things about MonAmiGabi, this might be a good idea. My husband says I can pick where I want not to worry about cost, I'm just trying to be good But I do love a good steak. I've been reading about BLT in Bally's and Gordon Ramsey's in Paris. Have you tried either of these?

My personal recommendation is Zeffirino in the Venetian - Italian cuisine. Very much a white tablecloths and "old fashioned service" sort of place (I've gone there in shorts and a t shirt before, so you'll have no issues with the attire you've described). Most of the tables are upstairs and you'll usually have no trouble getting one with a view of the Venice canal one storey down.

This is the American location of the Zeffirino restaurant, with the original location being in Genoa, Italy. Widely said as being the best pesto you can find in Italy, and it was Frank Sinatra's favourite place to go when he went to Italy.

The quality of the Vegas location is very much on par, I think. I spent many years working in Italian restaurants and have also lived in Italy... this place 100% has my recommendation. If you're not drinking, you should pretty easily be able to get away with spending less than $150 on this one.

 

Charlie Palmer at Mandalay Bay does a "cut of the week" special for $58 a person. I know you indicated no drinks but it does include bottomless wine.

Yes. They are closed Sunday's. The cut of meat changes weekly though.
