Every bum who could afford to buy a empty bucket and beat on it for hours... My head is still pounding. These people need to GO..... Very distasteful.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

You don't think banging on a 5 gallon bucket is protected free speech? Who shall decide what speech is distasteful enough to ban? If the courts have ruled that protests at a funeral are protected free speech, I doubt banging on a drum on the sidewalk outside a casino will be banned.

yeah, it's really unfortunate but as snidely said, there is little that can be done as it's technically public property. Whether it's the drums you referred to or the "porn slappers", it really is a problem and starting to get out of hand.

If by "porn slappers" you're referring to the escort service flyer distributors, surely they could be held liable in some way for littering. I've seen it happen in the UK.

If I ran a Strip casino, I'd try and do like Wynn did with The Mirage..Buy the sidewalk in front making it private property and kick their azzes out.

I think they did. My foggy memory is that the county passed an ordinance a year or two ago requiring them to clean up the litter caused by their cards in their immediate area. FWIW, I see a lot less of that litter now than I did several years ago

I was referring to the bums that had 5 empty 5 gallon Buckets in front of them and beating on them over and over as you walked by. I could handle the others that was begging for your change but the continued beating of an empty 5 gallon bucket Grew Old... JUST MY OPINION.....

I never thought I'd say this, but I'm with Breeze. :wink2: I kind of enjoy some of those plastic drum bands. I saw one group that was really talented and stood and watched for an embarrassingly long time. I wouldn't want them in the hall outside my hotel room at 6am, but...

I guess it's a case of different strokes for different folks.

Yeah some of those guys are pretty good

I look at the street performers and hooker card peddlers as part of the Vegas experience. Doesn't really bother me.

If they're banging on a bucket, they aren't reaching into your pocket :)

I remember some of them banging on the FSE but not sure if the new rules chased them away.

Yeah, I also don't like the banging on the bucket "music" since it also gives me a headache. Guess that's why I won't go to see the blue man group either.

True that they have their constitutional right but I also have a right not to stick around to hear the beating.

    If they can't do a "Stroke Roll" = they're just bangin' !
I played the drums half my early life = these guys bore me to DEATH !
I saw the famous Japanese Island drum group -- I can't think of the name ?...-
but they played NYC Broadway + other top venues.
I was BORED SILLY after 10 mins !.......just bangin' away....single strokes = all of it !
Maybe, you saw Buddy Rich on "The Tonight Show" w/ Johnny Carson ?...years ago....
The guy was SO LIGHT.....FLUID.....FAST.....and could "stroke roll"..... LAMF !!!!!!!
    B-O-R-I-N-G !

yes, in Hawaii they have Taiko drummers and while I can listen to them for about 3 minutes I usually won't stick around much longer than that.

    okay -
    That's the name ?
    Thanks makikiboy.
I thought the show would be great for a cruise ship show --
but I'll never go see them again.
It was fun for a few minutes.

    HINT --
The Bucket Bangers should get some other sized buckets + TUNE THEM differently.
Put stuff inside the bucket - tape the rims, etc -- you get different sounds......or god forbid...MORE COWBELL !
    More variety of sound !
Damn !...I gotta tell every two bit, wannabe, entertainer how to be more entertaining ?

I too like the bucket drummers. At least they are "working" for their handout.

A "drum" is just a more refined bucket!
