Spending a week in Vegas and have all our restaurants/buffets set but one - will be staying at Cosmo for a couple of nights and looking for a dinner suggestion/recommendation at Cosmopolitan. Would like to keep cost for two between $100 to $120, before tax and tip, no alcohol. We are pretty middle of the road in food tastes - nothing too exotic.

Also planning to try Wicked Spoon for the first time - any tips on best time of day to avoid long lines? Either Tuesday or Wednesday is the plan
Favorite item on the buffet not to miss?

    TIA

Without knowing what kind of food you like, I would go with Blue Ribbon. Excellent sushi

Thanks for that infor - I should have been more specific - Neither of us eats sushi though I'll pass this on to our friends who do love sushi.
In the meantime, I have read a few trip reports here and found a couple of places mentioned that we will probably try - STK and Milos menu's seem to match our likes, and will increase our bankroll.
Looking forward to some new dining experiences.

    Thanks again UKFanatic!

I'm not a sushi eater either. I have really enjoyed every restaurant I have been too at Cosmo. You didn't mention Scarpetta; it is good as well. STK is a good choice.

At the Wicked Spoon, my favourite item in the angry mac 'n cheese.

I like D.O.C.G. and Scarpetta. (The former might fit within your original budget; the latter would probably be a bit more.)

I suggest Jaleo. It is a tapas restaurant with a lot of small plates. I had a fantastic meal there last year. The vibe is good, and so is the people watching in the evening. It may push your budget a bit, though.

Just wanted to chime in with a note that Wicked Spoon actually closes between lunch & dinner, so be sure to check the times for your visit.

Jaleo is fabulous. One of my favorites in Vegas, actually. If you considering a nice lunch at all, Estatorio Milos has a great prix fixe lunch deal that is delicious.

The must eat restaurant for me at Cosmo is currently China Poblano. Love that place.

D.O.C.G. has a fantastic Caprese salad, and really good wood-fired pizza. Estatorio Milos has dynamite seafood.

Thanks to everyone who responded for making it harder to decide!
What breanna and others have said indicate nearly all of the restaurants at Cosmo are really good - maybe I should have asked where NOT to eat - just joking - don't tell me...

Thanks for the Wicked Spoon tips (times to go) and suggestions (angry mac n cheese) - we do plan to eat there if lines aren't too long.
So we decided to do two dinners and one lunch in addition to WS - need to narrow down to: STK, Scarpetta, Estatorio Milos, China Pablano, Jaleo, and D.O.C.G for this trip and will save the others for our next trip. We have some Food Comps and will increase the bankroll - wouldn't want to miss out on a fun and fine meal for the sake of a few more bucks.

Thanks again for all your input - we are so ready to get there so the eating can begin - that is in between slots!

I thought STK was fine but might be the weakest of them all. I've had better steaks at several other places. The Henry is tasty as well but it'd be tough to spend $100 there in one meal for 2.

I'd also add Holstein's to the list. I was there at dinner but it'd be a great lunch place, too. Best burger I've ever had.
You'll LOVE Wicked Spoon! I've been for dinner and brunch (with bottomless mimosas!), and loved pretty much every bite I put in my mouth except the Mongolian stir-fry station.

I love the Milo's lunch special, I think it is only available between 12-2. I make sure to eat lunch there on every one of my trips.

Thanks to all - these are the places we tried at The Cosmo - no pics

Thanks for your great suggestions - were there just two nights for our first stay at Cosmopolitan so had to narrow down our options - good news is, we liked every single place and will definitely go back to try the rest! So many excellent options - variety and cost wise. Sorry - no pics -I know it doesn't count if no pics....

First - DH and I are not very adventurous when it comes to food which will be evident in our selections..

Dinner at China Poblano - oh my goodness this is a happening hot spot at dinner - busy, vibrant, young (except for us), fun atmosphere, great staff. So many menu choices and food beyond great!
Golden Pigs - fried delicate steamed buns stuffed with sweet Chinese BBQ pork and condensed milk on the side for dipping - the BEST - we wanted more!
Langosta - lobster taco - DH said a bit spicy but excellent
Carnitas taco - tender and well seasoned
Mongolian beef lettuce wraps - really good - we shared!
18 monk noodle with sweet potato and mushroom - very good but a little heavy
Roasted beet salad with avocado, tomatillo, and orange dressing - another favorite for next time.
(Didn't try the avocado dish made fresh - almost every table had it - but next time)!

Lunch at estiatorio Milos - very reasonable price fixe lunch menu @ $25.15 appetizer, entree, dessert.
Portions are generous and so fresh - excellent meal.
My favorite - tomato salad with cucumber, goat cheese, olives, and lightly dressed
Greek Meze plate - salami, tzatziki, manouri cheese, olives - very good
Lavraki- grilled Mediterranean bass - mild yet flavorful - so good but watch out for tiny bones..
Shrimp Saganaki - with couscous & feta - DH loved it
Dessert - Karidopita - walnut cake with kaimaki ice cream - ok but not special

    Breakfast at The Henry
Solid 24 hour cafe - good buttermilk flapjacks, fresh fruit plate with house made fig Newton, bacon and eggs were cooked as ordered and hot on arrival (I don't like lukewarm food) so the breakfast got an A from me.
(Off topic here, but my absolute favorite place for breakfast or brunch is Bouchon at the Venetian - nothing I've tried compares to that - IMHO of course)!

Late dinner at Wicked Spoon - used a buy one, get one free for earning sterling status on 1st stay.
Enjoyed the salad and fruit choices, desserts were very good, yes to the Mac n cheese!
Entrees were fine but not outstanding.

Grabbed a slice of Pizza at Secret Pizza - pretty good.

Next trip will try: either Scarpetta or DOCG for Italian, Holsteins for a burger, Jaleo.

Thanks for posting the follow-up report! I personally love China Poblano but I had suggested Jaleo as I was under the impression you were looking for something a bit more formal.

    Secret Pizza is always great!

You are right spicole, our intention was for a little more formal, but then Vegas happens and even the best laid plans.....
For sure we will try Jaleo on our next trip later this year - we really like everything about Cosmopolitan and the many restaurant choices make it hard to choose, so guess we'll have to hit them one by one - except for sushi; not our thing.
I have a strong aversion to cilantro of all things, won't go into gory detail, and China Poblano was very accommodating in ensuring cilantro was omitted from my dishes..

I really appreciate everyone's suggestions and read as much of the food porn reports as I can. I find that, say five people order the same dish and there may be five different opinions. Since we are neither foodies nor adventurous, reading all the descriptions helps us to decide what new places or dishes might work for us. And we really do like to try new places - Vegas is perfect for that!

It is always hard for me to decide with all the excellent choices at Cosmo. Thanks for following up. I enjoy The Henry but like you, Bouchon is my favourite. I do love having late night tater tot nachos at The Henry.
