    My Trip Report

    First Solo trip ever.
    Feb 10th -15th
    1.5 days at the D
    3.5 days at Planet Hollywood

Flight in was pretty terrible in general.. first time taking Air Canada Rouge and it is just a base flight with nothing else.. Bad service, uncomfortable seats, no TV or Music to kill time unless you brought your own, Not even a bag of tiny peanuts or snack.. Good thing I am taking West Jet when I fly home.

I did try a new to me restaurant called Wahlburgers. The food was decent, staff friendly and environment nice. Food took a little longer then I expected for a burger and fries.[IMG]

Checked into The D. Just a basic room nothing fancy but also pretty nice considering how cheap the rooms here are.

Anyway I will try to do a couple updates each day for those who want to hear about my low roller lifestyle (with occasional high limit slots tossed in)

I stay on the strip every trip, but for exercise walk downtown and back once every trip. Never thought I'd enjoy the D, but drink service is abundant, slots actually hit and the food comps come easily. They keep sending me free room offers, may have to stay one night.
Looking forward to reading your updates. Have a great time!

    Hi Guy,

Have a great trip and wins lots. Headed out in the am to Harvey's Lake Tahoe myself. I hope your new CET host takes good care of you at PH. Are you staying in the new Ultra Hip room?

Good luck. How's the street noise from the room? Which floor?

Gosh, never stayed at the D but the room is nice looking. I would be curious about black jack minimums and payouts along with slot wins.

Fingers Crossed she will be better than my last Host, but we are off to a great start as she actually replies to my e-mails within 3 days.. That is pretty much all I ask 

My Room is on Floor 6. But for $24 a night I can’t complain with the room.
I am on the backside of the hotel so there was little to no street noise. Keep in mind it was Wednesday night so there was not the normal weekend traffic and the live band that was playing was set up near the Golden Gate (opposite side of Freemont experience)
After a long travel day I did not hit any tables last night but a quick walk by showed Blackjack tables at $5 paying 3:2 last night.. (not sure on any other rules such as soft or hard 17 etc) I would assume the minimums will get higher as we get closer to the weekend.

Going to bounce around between a few casinos today and do some gambling and try to find pizza rock for lunch since I have heard so many good things about it.
    Thanks for following along guys.

p.s. I am a very simple guy so while I will hit buffets, you likely won’t see any extravagant food excursions pictures here :p

Tks for the report, looking forward to more photos! Where did you have the wahlburger? I've heard of them and would like to try one. I think one is going in at ballys ??? The D rooms rooms are ok to me, nothing really more or less, a good place to stay solo on the cheap for sure.

They have a Wahlburgers here in Brooklyn, right next to the famous Nathan's hot dog place. Nothing special about the burgers, I must admit. They were supposed to build one at the Ballys Bazaar Shops, but as of late November, when I was in Vegas last, there was nothing there.

How much was your burger and fries? Or was it a combo meal (burger, fries and a drink) and how much was it? Which Wahlburger did you visit?

At the D, was the $24 a night including everything (taxes and resort fees)? While I like to see low prices I also want to see the total price as that makes all the difference when searching for rooms to stay in.

    Just curious.

Pizza rock is pretty good but I've heard the by the slice is hit or miss. I've always gotten a whole one to share.

I had it at the one down the street here in downtown Toronto.

    It was good.

Hope you are having a great time. Look forward to more updates if you get the chance. Wahlburger is the place owned by some of the Wahlberg siblings, no? Siblings to Donnie and Mark?

We are going to spend one night downtown on our next trip and haven't decided where yet, so I like seeing photos of the rooms at various places.

Quick update for the morning so far.

Mostly roamed downtown to see what’s all around here again. (been over a year since I was downtown last)
I remember someone was asking somewhere if El Cortez still gives freeplay when you use the ATM.. the answer is yes.
I went to Pizza Rock for lunch and had a slice.. but honestly it was not that good at all.
After that I found a very cool store buried just behind Freemont Experience that channeled my inner nerd.. I spent more time in the store then I should probably admit because everything in it was soo cool

Ironically downtown feels busier today (during the day) then it did last night even around midnight. I guess the difference between Wednesday and Thursday makes a pretty big difference.

So far I have only done a little bit of gambling (And am up $30 haha) so that will be on the agenda for the rest of the day. Hopefully We can get some nice slot wins or chip porn to show.
