I am not judging at all. Just curious.

    No cellphone?

(seems like they seem to have them in most casinos - often near elevators or business areas/meeting rooms)

The bigger question though is, how many of those are still functional?

Functional pay phone inside Paris down the hallway to the restrooms near the registration area. Used it recently. No cell phone for me either. :faint:

In all seriousness pay phones are still fairly useful for International visitors as alot of cell phone plans have ridiculous roaming rates.

I have my cell phone but I don't think I made a single call during my last 5 trips in Vegas, not even once.

I remember pay phones being discussed in The Hangover movie. Alan asked the CP front desk clerk if they had a bank of pay phones. I believe the reply was "..no".

I saw a couple phones in Paris as well... right at one of the entrances from the Strip. I damn near fainted and had no idea they existed.

Upon a closer look, I noticed that they accept credit cards; did not notice a spot for coins...

I remember back in '82 I was in line at a pay phone bank at the Stardust. There was a guy in front of me on the phone with what appeared to be his boss. He told his boss, politely, that he was quitting his job because he won over $2k in a poker game. His wife was begging him not to and she had tears flooding down her face. To this day I think about that stupid bastard and hope against hope that he was able to get his job back.

I was in Chicago Midway last year. There was an area where there were about 12 payphones. It was the quietest area I could find to use my cell for a call. While I was in there, a 30ish mother walked through and was giving her kids a history lesson about payphones. They seemed totally clueless about the concept.

If somebody contacts you on your pager you should then be able to find a pay phone fairly quickly. If there is not a pay phone available I would just send the person you want to contact a message through pony express.

Hi Sherlock, not sure if you mean you have a cell phone but the travel package is expensive. If Rogers is your provider, they have s new US package that is $5/day.

Koodo, 60 bucks a month unlimited everything including North America calling. Thats not bad! I wouldn't call that expensive for canadians.

There are still pay phones eveywhere in strip hotels. Just have to locate them. Aria still has them just off the main floor.
