Was supposed to come to Vegas in April for my birthday but sadly could not get that time off work...I'm a para educator that works with special needs children and we have extra testing that week. Anyhow we moved our trip to the end of this month and I found an outrageous deal on Priceline for 3 of us from Omaha NE to Vegas from Feb 24-28 round trip flights and hotel for 275.00 per person!! Anyone been to this Days Inn? Trip Advisor has decent reviews...I'm not looking for a golden pillow to lay my head on...as long as it's clean and no bugs lol Any advice is greatly appreciated!!

It sure wouldn't be my first (or even fifth) choice. Did you compare prices downtown or at the Gold Coast?

For years Wild Wild West was notorious for bedbugs. I don't know if they have since resolved the problem.

FYI, Wild Wild West was the motel that Heather Graham's character called home in The Hangover.

stayed there many years ago when it was the king 8-------rooms are motel type with outside entrances, basic but clean-----they cater to truckers since they are cheap, near the freeway and have ample parking for their big rigs----rooms have actually improved since days inn took over --------very small casino-----not that far from the strip,it is walkable although I drove----reasonably priced drinks at the bar if you are not gambling-----

IMHO, basically it is a day's inn motel that is located in vegas. Hotel rooms are similar to other Day's Inns around the country. Nothing really special, they do have a small casino but other than maybe bj I don't remember any other table games.

You probably need to check under the bed (between the sheets, between the box spring and mattress, etc.) for bedbugs just in case but I always do that when staying in motels.

Note that they charge a resort fee so you will have to pay a little more for your stay there.

If cost is an issue then the place should suffice.

I have stayed in over a hundred, mostly budget hotels. Wild Wild West was the worst one I ever stayed at. The bedbug issue was so bad that I had to take a blanket from inside my car and sleep on top of it. I should've just slept in my car. My judgement was severely lacking after a 21 hour drive from Washington State. This was 7-8 years ago so it's possible things have changed.

Looks like bed bugs are probable. Seems you better bring your citronella body lotion for use before bedtime.

I would politely disagree with the above posters. I stayed there a few months ago and enjoyed the Days Inn. All rooms have been refurbished. And, the beds were as soft as ones I've stayed at, such as Mirage and MGM. The staff was friendly and it is not the same place it once was. Believe me, I remember what it was like before.
Some room locations are better than others, such as those facing the pool or away from the traffic. Maybe eyeball the property before checking in and request a certain bank of rooms.
Don't be frightened away from staying there.

Good to have a first hand account of the place. All of the other posters have never stayed there (or never stayed there recently) so it is good to get a post from someone who actually stayed there recently. Thanks Chef!

I stayed there for my first Vegas visit about ten years ago. It did the job...there was a bed, room was clean enough for me, and the restaurant had decent food. The walk to the strip is kind of a pain due to the interstate being in the way. The cab driver that dropped me off warned me the hookers there would rob me. I never verified that though. Overall, I'd consider it again for just me. My wife won't have any part of it though.

You do know that if the room had bed bugs and you slept in it you transferred those bed bugs to each hotel you slpet at and then took them home with you!!!!!

Consider bed bugs free pets and you will be fine.

Thank you all for your feedback!! We got a stellar deal at the Plaza so we decided to go there!! I'm feeling somewhat safer with that choice lol

The Plaza is a much better choice, not just for hotel room but for location and the fact that it's not all by itself but in the middle of a lot of action.

For sure, Plaza trumps the Days Inn.

I have been in the casino, and it was small, dark, and scary....my best friend stayed there, and had a chair propped up under the door knob just in case....lots of truckers and bikers milling around.
