I just wrote that in another thread a few weeks ago so it goes to show you how little I know!

We just visited the El Cortez and see they have opened up the old cafe with a restaurant called Pizza Lotto - Slices and Slots. It had only been open for 6 days so they were still working on the finishing touches. The front area has tables while the back area is currently blocked off. Staff told me that they are still waiting for the ElCo to install the slot machines at the rear. It's intended as a quieter place to play some slots while grabbing a bite to eat. Slices and Slots are leasing the space from the El Cortez so I'm guessing food credits can not be used there (but I didn't specifically ask that question so I could be wrong).

I forgot to get pics of the inside of the menu but from what I remember seeing, it was just pizza choices without other Italian dishes. They seemed to have some nice variety of upscale pizza ingredients though rather than just the typical pepperoni, mozzarella, etc. There were a number of tables filled in the evenings while I walked by.

Edited to add: I guess I didn't see the other options available other than pizza. Vital Vegas wrote a review yesterday and includes some other ElCo news here http://vitalvegas.com/el-cortez-casino-is-on-the-right-track-with-pizza-lotto-restaurant-and-upcoming-imbibe-bar/#disqus_thread

I'll give it a try next week. It's always fun to try out a new place to eat in Las Vegas.

Glad to hear that this replaces the rumored "night club" they actually thought of putting in the place. What a disaster that would've been :)

Ate here the other day. Place was dead, but don't think the word is out yet that they opened. Pizza was good. ElCo has added a free 2 slices of cheese and a fountain Coke when you hit 1,500 base points in a day. You just swipe at the kiosk, and print a ticket (added to the options for cigarettes, $6 off at Subway, or a free burger at the restaurant).

There are definitely better pizza options, but this was a solid slice.
