    My Trip Report

    Hi
Been reading this forum for years with no significant contribution whatsoever, hence the newbie tag. But I will change that with an attempt at a live report.
I leave for Vegas for 7 days in the morning celebrating my 30th year going to my favorite city. I have been going every year since 1986, some multiple times a year, I am somewhere near 45 times I guess. I will break that string next year as I am in my early 50s and need to start crossing some other travel off my list. My son is going to be stationed in Alaska soon and the wife wants to go there and we are going to travel across Europe for a few weeks the following year, so need to save up to do it in style. So I figured I would report in my final trip for a while. (Jan 26th-Feb 2nd)

I am going with my 22 yr old daughter and her 2 friends and 1 set of friends parents for the first 4 days, then I have a buddy coming in on Wednesday to hang with for the rest of the trip. I will be staying at Golden Gate, Plaza, Cosmo and MGM all comped (got to get something for 30 years of play) I am loyal to no one property so I only get 2 or 3 days comped at any one place. I am not a High Roller by any means just consistent enough to be invited back. Kids are staying at the Downtown Grand and the other parents at MSS.

Probably highlights of the trip will be the High Roller bar car, Secret Garden at Mirage, (MyVegas) Zip Line on Fremont, Verbena at the Cosmo and ATV riding in Valley of Fire. Not real highlights to some of you but its whats slated on the things to do list. The only one in stone is the ATV because its paid for. I usually do 1 big out of city thing when I go. In the past has included The Dam, Swimming and boating in Lake Meade, Dune buggies in the dessert, helicopter to the Grand Canyon, shooting machine guns and so on. We will also drink and gamble a lot which is the main highlight I like to do.

Well I have to get up for a flight in 5 hours so I hope to catch you on the flip side. Guess i will practice posting a picture, so here is my initial withdraw from the bank.

Landed, heading to Ellis island as its one of the few places I have never been. Others in my party like the steak dinner here. I have no plans, too early to check in so I will go along and sign up. [IMG]

Played 5 minutes on Buffalo and hit all wilds for $125 win. Time to eat. Forgot to pic the big win.

    Update
Kudos to those who do a live report regularly and well.

We ate at Ellis and I did not bow to the peer pressure to have the steak dinner like the regulars did. I had the 50/50 burger (Half beef half bacon) with cheddar, wow was that good, a ton of flavor and a lot of bacon and the free beer made it that much better. I proceeded to piss away the $105 I was up and decided to head downtown to check in to the Grand, I got 3 nights comped and casino rate for my daughter and her roommate. They all headed to the pinball hall of fame to get rid of $30 in quarters. While I waited I played some random slots and was down $80, then I hit on a Wonder Woman for a hundred and am up $20. I will take this yo-yo ride till I hit it big. The kids got their rooms and I headed over to Golden Gate another place I have never stayed. I like gambling there so 2 comped nights. I took this room for the history aspect of it. I always swore I would stay at the oldest place one time and since tonight I am by myself I took it. I told her to give me the noisy side figured I would immerse myself in the whole experience. Wow this place is as advertised, old, small and noisy. I can now cross it off my list. I double booked so will have a room at the Plaza tomorrow as my buddy arrives.

I am headed downstairs to lose some/win some then meeting my brother at Red Rocks to eat some burnt ends brisket at Lucille's BBQ. Will post any significant slot porn should it arise.

Played some buffalo at Red Rocks and lost about 150, headed back to Golden Gate and played various slots, nothing happening down about 300, thats enough for me. East coast time catching up. Start fresh in the morning.
