Caesar's Palace: Augustus Room or Forum Tower Suite?

Which would you choose?
It's just the two of us for 5 nights, would you choose a room in Augustus over a suite in Forum Tower? I've only stayed in Palace Petite Suite before with a view of the pools. Any help with the views, location (Palace was a long walk from everything), old vs. new, amenities would be appreciated.

I've stayed in the Augustus Tower several times. Rooms are nice in size, modern and offer nice views of the Bellagio fountains. It's also a little shorter walk to the strip.

 

I've stayed in both over the years. Augustus is MUCH nicer!

 

Agreed, the Forum suite are 2 rooms and larger, but very old and dated. I got the Forum suite and requested a change to Augustus room after staying one night. The Augustus Rooms are like mini suites in my opinion. 650-725 ft2 and really nice

 

True. They are large and LONG. Probably the nicest hotel room I've ever stayed in. Got that room by the luck of the draw at the desk after reserving a ROTH room.

Trying to decipher the rooms/towers/descriptions at CP is tough but I was leaning towards the room in Augustus and now I'm sure that is what we will choose.

 

Major difference is going to view and how long of a walk you want. Both rooms have not been refreshed recently (last 4 years) so expect some minor wear and tear

- Forum tower elevators open to the casino, shorter tower and rooms have limited views. If you get a strip facing one on a high floor you can end up with a nice view of North Strip (Wynn / Encore, Mirage, Venetian, etc) but that's it.
- Forum tower rooms typically do not have Jacuzzi tubs only showers, the Forum executive does have the jetted tub.
- Augustus tower is no longer guaranteed, you basically book a Laurel Collection room now and could end up in either Octavius or Augustus (unless you have a host connection)
- Augustus tower south facing rooms have killer views of Bellagio Fountains and Paris Eiffel Tower.
- Augustus has long walk to buffet, casino, shopping and pool. Shortest walk to diamond lounge, spa, and vip checkin
- Forum tower has the shortest walk to casino, dining and forum shops. Nightclub noise from Pure balcony used to be a problem for Forum tower guests. Not sure now that its Omnia.

Bedding quality is slightly better in Augustus tower. I think all rooms have the Keurig coffee makers now, bring your own K cups or prepare to pay.

 

I stayed at CP on 1/8 and 1/9. At check in I was booked in the palace tower and was getting upgraded to the Laurel collection. I asked about the newly remodeled Julius tower. I knew that the rooms were going to be much smaller, but I liked the fact that the elevators were right by the cashier/cage. We stayed in them for 2 nights. The bed was new and comfortable. The ac worked great the TV was about 50" and new. The carpet was new. The bathroom had 2 sinks and a very large shower which had a shower head and a shower wand you could switch between. The bedside lamps had usb sockets for smartphone/tablets. And when you got off the elevator you were right in the middle of casino and close to everything. We were on the 4th floor so view was not good. But I would stay there again.

 

There is a shortcut. Just walk west through the Octavius hallway, turn right and follow signs to the buffet.

While I really like the location of Forum Tower (close to the casino floor and morning coffee at Starbucks) the lack of view and dated room weighs on me. Although the thought of a suite is nice, a newer, modern room with an upscale feel is what I like as long as there is a space for me to get some work done when needed (self employed, own 2 businesses so work goes with me).

I'm intrigued by the new Julius tower, so I may inquire about that when I check in but as of now, I'm hoping for a fountain view room in Augustus, I think.

 

The Agustus rooms have a table where you can work. There is a Starbucks near the Agustus elevators.

 

Yes, Starbucks across from.VIP check in and Augustus elevators, but worth the walk to Payard where the coffee and espresso are delectable and far superior to Starbucks IMO

A small walk up Payard booth is to the right of the entrance at the Main Valet and the main Payard is over by the Palace Tower with a crepe station, gelato and more food/snacks and ajoined to a small restaurant that serves breakfast and lunch. Coffee/espresso equal in both Payards.

 

I've stayed in the Forum tower suites (double bay window) many times. Love the bathrooms. The biggest drawback were the dated TV's. I always rent a car and it was convenient to self-parking. I mostly stay in the Octavius tower now.

KingB, we self-parked last visit and FT would have been REALLY convenient. No car this time, so we decided to go with the newer room with a view in Augustus.
