    Hello all,

I'll be in Vegas for a work trip in March (getting there on the 20th and leaving the 23rd). Should be in Vegas around 2PM. It looks like the only day I'll get to watch and gamble on games will be Sunday, which kinda sucks. My question is...can I bet on the games that are going to happen during the second round, even though I won't be there? Do the casinos send you your money if you win? How does that work?

Pretty much a low roller. Haven't been to Vegas in a long time. Last time I went to Vegas, Bills was still around and the 99 cent margarita was there, which me and my buddies got one every morning. I'm looking for cheap drinks on the strip, any specials like the 99 cent marg out there? Any awesome happy hours that you all know of? I'm staying in a "grand king" room at MGM...how is that room? Does MGM have the electronic craps and roulette? I would like to low roll on those and get some drink service.

Any other tips for a first timer march madness guy that gets in on Sunday? Haven't been to Vegas in like 7 years so looking forward to my trip.

Thanks for any help you have!

You can mail in your ticket if it wins, and they'll send you the money. You'll obviously have to wait until the second round is set before you can bet on it, and remember that with the exception of the Spokane games, most of them are farther east (Brooklyn will be three hours ahead of Vegas, OKC and STL are two hours ahead), so there won't be all that many games going on by the time you get to the hotel and settle in.

Last time I was at MGM, I didn't have much of a problem playing quarter VP at the bars and getting free cocktails. Centrifuge is nice on evening weekends, if you want to keep an eye on the scenery outside Hakkasan. They definitely do have electronic craps, roulette, and blackjack, though I can't speak to drink service there.

Man, totally forgot about the time differences. That's good to know about the betting tickets though.

    Thanks,

If you want to low roll check out the Sigma Derby at MGM. Put a $20 in the change machine and you could play as long as you want all while getting comped drinks. Only tough part may be finding a empty seat.

Right outside of MGM you can get cheap beers from the Grand Canyon store or ABC Store. Grand Canyon usually has 4 (16oz) tall boys for $5.

Go eat 20/20 at Aria and watch the madness at the sports bar!

Not sure which casino has the best sports book room though.

I second 44inarow's recommendation of the Centrifuge bar. There are plenty of TVs in there to watch games while having a drink or two.

Since you aren't arriving until Sunday, it probably won't be hard to find a seat in a sportsbook. A fair number of MM people arrive Wednesday, enjoy the games Thurs, Fri, Sat, and leave on Sunday. Plus, there are TVs set up throughout the casino floors (for M Life casinos; I can't speak to CET properties) so you should be able to find a spot to watch basketball while you play your choice of table games/craps/slots, etc.

I'm 99% sure Luxor has both the electronic craps and roulette games. I know Mandalay Bay has electronic craps, but I'm not sure about electronic roulette.

Awesome! I can't wait to get back out there. I want to try sports betting since I've never done that before.

They may not have the lines up for the following weekend when you are there.
If they do,you can bet them and mail your winning tickets in.
Last time I was at MGM for the first round of March Madness the line at the sports book was insane. It extended way down into the casino although it was before the first games started on Saturday..

Cool, thanks for the information. I forgot to mention to y'all that I have $51.00 a day to spend on food. Not much I know, but if i do a nice breakfast and then skip lunch and do a nice dinner? How are my food options on $51 a day?

The grand king rooms are pretty nice and cozy. I always enjoy them and the blackout curtains are fantastic. Ask for a higher floor to reduce the chances of club noise or views of air-conditioning ducts.

The MGM Grand has electronic craps and roulette as well as electronic baccarat, which I'm a huge fan of. :)

Plenty of food options in that budget with the food court and the NY NY across a the walkway.. The Wolfgang Puck spot at the MGM has a fantastic burger and fries for under $20.
