I recently bought the Groupon for the Happy Half Hour on the High Roller. Anyone been on the Happy Hour ride that can tell me what types of drinks (beer) they have on board? I'm guessing it will be the standard beer selection of domestics.... but would be pleasantly surprised if they have some decent choices.

I am not a beer drinker so I may not have paid close enough attention, but I think it was just mixed drinks when I went on the ride

They had your normal spirits and mixers as well as Bud Light and Miller Light. It think those were the only 2, maybe Mich Ultra as well, but I can't remember. My hubby said it was not as cold as he would like, so he chugged it and then went mixed drinks.

When I did it (back in January 2015), it was predominantly mixed drinks, although I do remember getting one of those metal Coors Light cans. It's just domestics, but it's still pretty cool to drink a beer 565 feet above the city!

Yeah, just a couple of domestics. They use a roll-in beverage cart. Defintiely do mixed drinks to max out the alcohol per time/dollar spent!

If you tip well they will make them strong. I had several screwdrivers that were strong and I got a good buzz

Seemed to us the Happy hour HRoller tour was always crowded. Waiting line......
And I can't drink that fast to make it worth my while.

So weve ridden Hroller a few times, but always in the uncrowded pods, so we can get right on.

I was going to suggest SKIP the Happy hour pod. Theres only One, every 30 mins.

Besides, there are so many other places to get drinks.....like Free at the machines. lol

That's been my experience - and that's after 5 rides on the wheel. I've never seen a pod, even the bar cars, with more than 15 people in them. They'll hold 40 people - so there's plenty of room.

There's some truth to that. 30 minutes sounds like a long time to spend in a pod - until you do it. The time goes by surprisingly fast.

This and try to stick to the same thing. We tipped first round and the bartender had us set up for our 2nd one quickly. Also, group shots! Our pod did a shot together too. My personal record....8. Go for 9 in April!?

LOL - Good thing they've got those nets under the pod entry/exit zone.

...going to give this a try in April for my sister's 50th. For $10 more you get an open bar for 30 minutes vs. just a regular "dry" pod...even if you only have 2-4 drinks it seems that's a good deal. Cheers!
