    Hey folks,

Just sharing a cautionary tale so y'all don't get burned like me. I've never played on those illegal casino sites but decided to try the state of NJ-approved online casinos while visiting AC recently.

There was a billboard on the freeway, a pamphlet at the cashier's cage and a sign near the elevators coming into the casinos from the parking garage about a $200 cash back promo.
Lose net $200 and get $200 in withdraw-able cash (or whatever your net losses were).

Sounded like a good reason to play a $200 blackjack hand and hope for the best.

When I went to the website, I didn't see the promotion so I called the help line and asked if it was still available. The woman said it was, so I proceeded. A week later....nothing is returned to me (the promo was supposed to take 7 days). So I call up that help line again today and the bait and switch is on. "Oh that promotion actually expired two months ago..they're in the process of changing the signs...that worker was wrong...". I escalate it up the chain as far as they'll allow me but get nothing out of the process.

Just a straight up $200 loss and a very bad taste in my mouth for Golden Nugget brand and New Jersey online gaming. In Vegas, at least with mLife, I'm never treated like this. At the very least, they'd say, "sorry someone gave you bad info, here's a buffet voucher". haha

Sucks but can't really do anything about this, it appears. So, just be careful. That's all.

I know NJ used to have the Casino Control Comission with a presense in every casino, that's gone now but there must be some way to file a complaint with the state.I would not let this go.And write the powers that be at the GN of your intentions.. An old billboard,I can see but signage and pamphlets at the property? No. Hope you pursue this.GL

That sucks!! Maybe you could try one of the helplines or consumer fraud reporters at your local tv station or newspaper. Casinos dont like bad publicity. I know this sounds really wierd ,but call the Judge Judy Show and tell them you've been a victim of a fraud just for the hell of it.Also write a letter to the management of the GN in AC and tell them you are not going to let this go and are going public on line and tv and newspapers.

This sounds like a situation that could be handled by the right manager. Once you start with the threats, that cooperation ends, but at some level, they'll take care of the problem. This request certainly passes the reasonableness test.

Here is a link to the contact page for the New Jersey Casino Control Commission. I am sure that have the authority to regulate online gaming and licensing.

I guess I should have said if all else fails. I would NEVER even consider internet gambling ,but if they blew me off a second time I'd make a stink about it.

This story actually had a happy ending. I thought of the same approach and pursued it and it quickly got fixed. I lookes up how to make a complaint with the state's gaming enforcement division. Their site said you must use the casinos official complaint process before going to the state. GN requires an email to support with the subject "complaint", so I did that and said, this is so I can advanced this issue with the state gaming officials. GN calls within 30 minutes and says, "we are moving this up the chain, please be patient with us as we try to address it." 30 minutes later: your $200 is back in your account. Thank goodness it worked out. Glad it got resolved but still don't really like a company that will only solve an issue if you're willing to make a ruckus. The person who called each time was the same supervisor I had dealt with before, so she totally couldn't moved it along or fixed it (or however it was eventually handled).

Awhile back I had a problem with a car company. I posted the problem with my feelings about it on the car company facebook page, they contacted me and the problem was fixed. I won't play online casinos, I don't trust it and I like the sounds and everything else about gambling in a casino.

Commission fines are no joke. $200 is a drop in the bucket vs. any commission fine. At nearly 36, I still get carded and my ID scanned at one of my locals so much, I gave up trying to slide by the employee and I have my ID out. The other casino in the area that regularly scans my ID admitted to me they have received a 6-digit fine for minor gaming in the past.

I also get carded in Tunica about once a day. And Vegas maybe once or twice a trip, but at the bars only.

I'm glad this was rectified fairly.
