So for my May trip I'm taking a first timer along with me and I'm questioning as to where we should stay at. Normally I would stay at Aria but I'm wondering what you all think would be the best place for someone who's never been to Vegas.

The person that's joining me just turned 21 and I wanna get him inducted into Vegas the right way.

I'd say Aria is a fine choice, a very nice property right around the middle of the Strip. Easy access to lots of other properties for exploring.

    Aria is nice.

But I would not go there for a first timer 21 year old.

I would lean more to on the strip, and lower end. Just about the cheapest place on the strip will be a treat for this Vegas virgin.

Harrah's. Center Strip. Short walk to Bellagio and next door to Casino Royale so that the first timer gets both ends of the spectrum.

Agree, no Aria for their first trip.

They should cut their teeth, going downtown, or mid-strip like the Linq area. Yes, you can visit the nicer Hotels, but they will be around people their age by being DT, or mid strip.

Yea, cheaper place. Once he is broke (will happen fast), he then can go visit all the fancy places like Aria.

Flamingo is my go to with this for first timers. Cheap and literally in the middle of everything. History behind the building with cheaper games offered. I have moved away from Flamingo on to better things at Cosmo but for years I stay there or Rio...

One day you can walk south, one day north.

Aria would be fine. Its nice, its new, and its fairly central.

I would only avoid it if budget is a concern

I would say Bally's cause it's cheap and right in the middle everything. Its a good place to lay down your head and sleep and not like you going to hang out in the room that much anyways. Stay in in the new renovated Jubilee tower! Plus you will have more money for everything else.

Of course it all depends on what offers I get too as well. I have a good offer at Aria in May but I do like Flamingo since it's the center of it all

What about MGM Grand? For me, I was completely blown away by the sheer magnitude of that place. Was definitely an "oh, this is Vegas" moment for me.

Just my 2 cents is would be to stay at a budget property the first time like Ballys or Flamingo for half of the stay and then move downtown to the D. That way he can see almost all the properties and decide what he likes as well as showing him how little money you have to spend to have a great time in Vegas

It looks like Flamingo is where I'll be at based on my offers

My first time was last January after I hit a nice jackpot on my birthday. The next day I decided since I was off work for the entire week that it was finally time to make the trip so I called a buddy and we got the last flight out on Spirit Airlines on a Sunday.

I booked at the MGM before we left and was absolutely blown away by the whole Vegas experience. To me, MGM is centrally located on the Strip as I made Fat Bar (Fatburger) my temporary residence and there is A LOT to see and plenty of casinos to go to on either side of the MGM on the strip.

There is quite a bit of walking of course as you probably know from the MGM to anywhere but it was definitely a great first time experience.

I echo the idea of not going to Aria, Bellagio, Cosmo or Wyncore or Palazzo for a 21 yr old first timer
If you start him at the top teir?...he wont appreciate it as much as having stayed at a mid lvl but still strip hotel
Plus PH, ballys and Linq will have more people his age...since most early 20's people have modest budgets when not going with parents

Next time take him to Aria and really blow his mind

My son turns 21 next month and I'm taking him in June for his virgin Vegas trip. In recent trips I've stayed off strip but he wants to be in the thick of things so we're ending up at the Flamingo the first few nights. There's 12 of us going and for a variety of reasons the Flamingo works for us (cost, location, etc).

I think flamingo is a great property for a first timer, I hope you guys have a great trip.

That said, the sentiment in this thread that a place like Aria is "too nice" for a first timer in their early 20s makes zero sense to me.
