As some know, I am a low roller. I take a couple hundred a day to gamble with and that as the extent of my play. I am looking to make a trip the week of March 27th (date subject to change) and logged onto my Total Rewards and found I could book the 27th until the 1 of April comp at Harrahs or Rio, or $9 a night at Flamingo. I went ahead and booked a High Roller view room for the whole trip via that comp since it did not require a deposit of any amount but I was wondering what the thoughts of of the property.

As said, dates are subject to change, I may change hotels or what not but looking at going on a budget this seems to be the only one I can get a comp for other than Strat or one night at Luxor. I could use Myvegas for a night at an Mlife property but I do not want to move multiple times this trip.

Nothing wrong with Harrahs. Good casino, great location and the rooms are decent especially for the low price of free. I'd rather stay at Harrahs than Strat or Luxor. And to me Harrahs = Flamingo so I wouldn't pay the extra for that.

Harrah's is one of my favorite casinos. It has a good location and good games with knowledgable dealers. To me, Harrah's > Luxor -- mostly due to its location and casino.

Do you have to pay the resort fee? My "comped" rooms at the CET properties cost me about $32 a night.

That said, Harrahs is a great location. Next door there is a little food court next to Casino Royale that has a McDonalds (good for an early morning coffee or breakfast cheap plus a decent pizza place where you can get a slice. Casino Royale also has a Subway plus the White Castle if that is appealing to you.

Keep in mind that is one of the March Madness weekends so it will be pretty packed...surprised you could get a comp during that period so better book something now.

Ive stayed there a few times now, great location, its become somewhat of a homebase for me . I would definately give it a try vs. moving multiple times. Vegas Bright just recently posted an article about updated rooms in the South Carnaval Tower, pics online look great. Keep your rez and maybe you can get an upgrade to one of the new rooms!

Have stayed at Flamingo and much prefer Harrahs for location, casino and food choices. Unless The Flamingo has renovated the elevators there, Harrahs has them beaten there too.

Harrahs is way better then flamingo. One awesome thing about harrahs is that it is right on the strip. You don't walk s ton or through a maze to get to the strip

Strat is my last choice, to far from everything. I just know they sent me some free play and food and room offers and I only ran a $20 through the VP machine.

I do have to pay the resort fees. I booked the room for the entire stay as of now but may do a night or two at Mandalay Bay, or skip the Bay and do a night or two on Fremont St like I have the past few trips. Really like spending a night there, just don't want to move around much.

Harrahs, Is a good stay with great location. IMO at that price it is a no brainer.

My thoughts exactly. However, with the old casino's and lower ceilings, they can't get rid of the cigarette smoke.

I've stayed at Harrah's multiple times. Love the location and such.

Would have stayed there for my next trip but Flamingo had a great deal on a studio 1 king pool view for the same price as a room at Harrah's so I'm trying that location out for the first time.

I appreciate the feedback. I have not heard a lot of good about the place until this thread, maybe I was jaded by the noise complaints at carnival court. If things work out, i will be here at least three of my five nights planned, possibly the whole five, depends on if I decide to do a night or do at Mandalay Bay or downtown. With Uber now running, I think taking a trip downtown wont be too expensive as it would with a cab.

We stayed at Harrahs last year. Two rooms, two people each. Our shower was awful, never got hot, horrible water pressure. The other rooms was fine. The location was great though!

I've never stayed at Harrah's so don't know about the rooms, but we were in there a few weeks ago. For a low-end property, it seemed pretty nice and modern. As others have said, the location is stellar!! I don't think you can beat it for free!

The only good thing I can see about staying at the Stratosphere is the fact that they supposedly offer great comps and offers for even low-rollers. I don't think it would be worth it to stay there just because of that, though.

Yeah The STRAT is just to far out of the way to really do anything. I forgot how long of a walk it is from there to another place, took me longer than I remember walking from it to Circus Circus and at night it was pretty scary.
