Just got an offer for 4 nights free in AC, and may actually stop in as part of our New England trip. Harrah's, Bally's, and Caesars are all comped. Are the properties as good as their LV namesakes?

Caesar's is beautiful and on the boardwalk (which isn't always a good thing-I feel safer at Harrah's).
We stay at Harrah's 4-5 times per year and love it. It's much newer than LV Harrah's. Waterfront Tower Premium or Suite room 30th floor and above (separate elevator) is our preference. Harrah's is in the Marina area so not near the boardwalk or any other CET properties.

There is a shuttle to get between all CET properties, but we've only done that once-it was toaster oven give away day, nuff said. Cab fair maxes out at $13 so we always choose to cab if we have a concert or dinner somewhere on the boardwalk.

I don't agree that the crowd is too young (we are closer to 50 than 40). Yes, they have huge dance parties at the pool on weekends and there are lots of twenty somethings those nights, but their presence isn't too prevalent in the casino. The HL Room (Diamond Cove) is large and awesome-lots of VP, slots and good drink service.

    Mixed.

Caesars is on the boardwalk with lots of options to walk to. The Diamond Lounge is great.

On the other hand - Harrahs is a much nicer property, but is NOT on the boardwalk and is by itself.

Harrahs for the younger hipper crowd and nicest Casino, but its in the Marina, and 13$ taxi ride to the boardwalk. The rooms are nicest here.

Ceasers is next nicest on the boardwalk and lastly Ballys.

Harrahs and Borgata is for the younger crowd in the Marina.

Theres something to be said for both Caesars and Harrahs The nice part regardless of which you choose theres a free shuttle that goes back and forth between both.
We prefer Harrahs because of the 3 VP Bars and the proximity to the Golden Nugget and Borgata. Also the live bands on weekends. Others love the pool at Harrahs ,but lots of people prefer the boardwalk location of Caesars. If I were you I would look at the websites of both hotels and see which is better suited to your taste.

We have been to AC quite a few times and have stayed at Harrah's Bally's and Caesar's. In my experience I would totally choose Caesar's for a stay. I feel it is cleaner and nicer then the others. I also like the slot machines much better at Caesars and Ballys as opposed to Harrahs. We can't seem to win at Harrahs and don't care for their choice of slots. If a pool is what you are looking for then you will want to choose Ballys or Harrahs as Caesars has an outdoor pool that in for adults only. Ballys and Harrahs have indoor pools.

For restaurants Martorano's at Harrahs is very good and Nero's at Caesar's is excellent. Also have done Gordon Ramseys chophouse at Caesars and it was good. Guy Fieri's in Bally's also was good.

If the weather is nice I enjoy a walk on the Boardwalk and if you like to shop Caesar's has the pier shops/playground and there are a ton of outlet stores right behind Caesars that have some good deals.

Wherever you decide have a great time!

In the Marina district you need a car to get to.Boardwalk a bicycle..Clientele is a bit different in the Marina..Never had dudes asking me for a few bucks..grub a cig if seen smoking etc etc..That said, if you have never been to the Boardwalk it's a must see and it is safe day or night with other people around..Harrahs has a Jitney between properties.
Also check out the Borgata and they are the lone remaining racebook in town..The B is the closest to a higher end Vegas type you will find.

I would say Harrah's is the most up to date/nicer of the choices but convenience with regard to the boardwalk, Caesars. Like Jerseyguy said, there is a free shuttle ( or if you really want to experience the town take the jitney). Don't know if this is a concern or not, but the high-limit room at Ballys starts at $50.00 ( at least for BJ, I don't know about the other games) and $100.00 at Caesars. Of course you can be at either place in a minute or two, without even going outside :).

I prefer the Boardwalk area because I can bounce between Caesars and Ballys, when the weather is favorable it's nice to walk the boards up to Resorts and the Taj Mahal. I don't seem to win at Harrahs.

The v/p at the Toga bar at Caesars is 6/5, I can't believe I was playing there.
