Aria solo dining.

Aria for tonight for three nights. Solo mission. Likely just do room service every time but if i don't get too loaded where is a good place for a solo guy to sit at a bar and get a great dinner. Does Carbone have a bar a guy can eat at?

I have 300 in credit as part of the package so i should try and get one decent meal!

 

I stay and eat there all the time solo. I think almost every restaurant at Aria has bar seating. I would suggest Julian Serrano. My fav restaurant in Vegas, lively bar with good bartenders, and multiple TVs tuned to sports to help you pass the time as you sit there.

Not sure about Carbone, as I have not been there since it opened. Jean Georges and Javiers are decent places to sit at a bar and eat, although I like JS better. Bar Masa and Sage have bar seating as well

 

Thanks UK. Been there many times but always with the GF. I want to try Carbone so maybe i will have to pick up a lady of the night to join me or something if they dont have bar seating. I should try Serrano as well. Thanks!

 

I am eating there SB weekend. But I cannot imagine it being better than JS. That's my fav. And FWIW, I love Tetsu also, but it does not have any bar seating

 

Too many nice restaurants in Aria to waste $300 on room service! :wink

I second the JS recommendation. There is a nice bar at Bardot, too; in fact, I think all the restaurants in Aria have decent bar-seating for solo dining. You can't go wrong anywhere.

There is, but it is smaller. I have never eaten at it, but it doesn't have an inviting vibe for me. I think I might feel cramped if several people are at the bar (as opposed to JS or Javiers, where the bar area is very large). But hey, the food there is great, so that is another option.

 

I always eat at Javier alone. it's a few steps above the casino floor so if you choose you can watch the degens on craps. Post pics of slots

 

I have lunch at the bar at Javier's all the time.
Was at Carbone a couple nights ago and the bar was full with half the people eating dinner.
Also dined solo at Bardot.The bar is small but usually single seats are available.

 

I think the bar at Bardot depends on who's there and where you're sitting. If you sit on the side facing the dining room, it's pretty nice (but agreed that it's better if people aren't sitting next to you). Counterintuitively, the side facing the cul-de-sac feels cramped to me. I just don't love the food there, although their bartenders are top-notch. I tend to eat elsewhere and stop by Bardot for a nightcap.

Otherwise, I almost always stay at Aria solo, and have had great experiences there. Carbone is one of those places where, like Picasso, I've always felt completely comfortable sitting at a table alone. The only problem with Carbone is that most of the dishes are really meant to be shared, so it's just not a menu that really is conducive to solo dining. I've eaten there before, but would probably wait until I'm there with a bigger group to go back.

Julian Serrano and Javier's are great to sit at the bar, and I'm also a huge fan of Lemongrass. Todd English is nice for being there solo, too. Same for Five50, although I'm not sure I'd be able to take down a whole pizza myself. Overall, I think Aria has some of the best restaurants in Vegas for having a good meal while there by yourself.

 

Jean Georges is perfect for a single guy. (Assuming it hasn't closed yet..). Out of the way of traffic, adult crowd. Last time I was there at the bar eating by myself the guy next to me had brought his own bottle. Poured me a glass of an amazing Blankiet Cab. That doesn't happen just anywhere...

 

Is it closing? I have mixed feelings about JG. I have had excellent meals there and mediocre ones

 

Agreed as far as JG; I don't eat steak so can't speak to that, but sometimes they're great, sometimes they're only okay. I do like their appetizers. I'd be very surprised if they closed any time soon, though. There are always decent crowds, and I doubt Aria has anything to replace it with in the near term.

 

Make sure you get the $25 table side Caesar salad at Carbone. My friend was fighting with Dvandentop over the last crouton.

 

I have had the same experiences at JG. Most of the "excellent" meals have occurred when solo at the bar. The two bartenders are great, service is better than in restaurant, and for some reason the cuts of steak are better. The plan was for JG to close for a remodel once Carbone was up and running. Now that we are past NYE, I expect it will be soon, or maybe after CES. The orange and black cow motif is going away -- thank goodness.

I've eaten there dozens of times and have never had an inconsistency with their quality. I do tend to order the same exact thing every time.
As much as I enjoy JG, I really hated that terrible motif!

 

My vote would go to JG, too.
Best bartenders, Mike and Gerry, I've ever met. Always had nice conversations with them or with others sitting around the bar.
If you're into steaks, try the waguy tommahawk rib-eye. It's not on the menu, but a "special" for about 4 years...
Quite expensive, but worth it.

I also love having pastry and coffee at Jean Philippe patisserie in the morning.

 

Always had a great experience eating solo at the bar at Sage. Top notch food and service and never failed to make new friends with other solo diners.

 

I second the recommendation for Jean Georges.. Lady friend and I had a great meal and fun times trying to figure out what we thought the Cow Motif looked like!

Any ideas? I said Marge Simpson's head/hair (Focus on the black part)...
