SWIMJIM10 26-30 Dec DT/Strip/Valley of Fire TR w PICS

Just got back from staying at the D for 4 nights. Reading some of the other trip reports I feel like a very low roller but hopefully some of the pics help make you feel like you are on a personal getaway. I'm not exactly writer material so I'll let the pics do most of the talking. Day one we stayed DT checking out most of the casinos except the DT Grand and El Cortez. Day two was the North east side of the strip starting at Encore and ending at Bally's, ending in more DT adventures with VMB'ers (Thanks Timspeed for setting that up). Day three was a road trip to the Valley of Fire and Day four was a south strip + final night DT Blowout! I regret not visiting 777, Oxtail soup, and the mid west side of the strip (NYNY through Bellagio) but all and all much fun was to be had!

A mystery to me why some of these pics show up sideways even though I put them in there straight. Vegas airport Slots, arriving at Fremont, and first meal at the D Grill...

 

Day 1

I am getting pretty good at cocking my head from side to side and standing upside down to view the pictures.

Did the girlfriend ever play craps or did you win at Buffalo Stampede? I know you claimed to win $2300!!

$2300 seems like one decimal place too many, perhaps the noise at Pizza Rock? BUFFFFFALLLLLLLLO stopped being generous to us shortly thereafter though, Unicorns are my new favorite thing. She didn't play any table games: I would have had a completely different trip solo! It was like Vegas Vacation randomly running to the tables for some seemingly 5 minute sessions when I could alone.... Nice meeting you and I hope the craps ended up working out!

 

Thanks: I started writing too soon while I still didn't have a brain in my head from the Vegas after fog so there was no attempt at wit whatsoever. It was really nice meeting the two of you and I regret not coming by the MSS to find you guys again to say hi! Perhaps someday but until then, say hi to Kim and good luck!

 

I thought it was a great time to go right before NYE: but I'm not much for crowds (as you see I was forced to the desert for a bit). Perhaps we'll meet up if I choose the same time next year! A $50 El Cortez NYE party sounds like a riot!

 

Last full day



From the Breakfast on our last full day: Peppermill's with NO line!

 

Walked from Peppermill's to TI. I was personally not excited to "waste time there" with so much else to see but it was nicer than I gave it credit for!

 

Next stop: The endless maze of confusion that is Caesar's Palace... I mean, could it be any harder to find a sensible exit to the strip? I bent over with Julius' machines gave it to us hard as well... Don't get me wrong, it was pretty laddy-da but we did not finally make our way to the strip clicking out heels after that experience.

 

Almost forgot about The Mirage in between those two .... I was impressed by their bars but heard it may not be the place to be comped

 

We then hit up Paris Paris and Planet Hollywood: the latter being nicer than it is depicted in pics and videos. I could see myself staying there!
