If you could bring back one strip casino, what one would you choose?

In the red are the casinos that were still open in the circa the 1980's

My personal favorite back in the my 20's was the Barbary Coast. I was young and broke, and could play $2 BJ forever in this joint.

What is your favorite from 25 years ago or more!

The first true Nevada casino/hotel/resort, the one, the only.... EL RANCHO.

Every celebrity at the time stayed there. Joan Woodward and Paul Newman married at El Rancho - making Las Vegas into a wedding destination. It caught fire while Betty Grable was performing on stage (and burned to the ground) in 1960.

It's the property across the street from SLS (The Sahara) where Rock In Rio was held.

Boardwalk, it was like they were proud of how low-rent they were. Nice fit for my budget and style, back in the day. And I survived the Surf Buffet!

This. Growing up when I was still pre-teen and a teen, we would stay at Stardust. Before Stardust we were staying in no-tel's (those little no name motels on the strip that no longer exist).

I would like to see The Hacienda Resort Hotel and Casino. This is the hotel I stayed at during my first trip to Las Vegas. I didn't know how to play craps at the time and won over 400 dollars. At the time It was a lot of money to military man.

    The Fantabulous Imperial Palace!!

In it's heyday....The best cocktail waitresses, the best craps dealers (this side of Benny-era Horseshoe ) and an ornery, I-don't-give-a-damn owner.

They also treated loyal customers as VIPs. (Including a low-roller like me) ;)

Stardust....I loved that place for some reason. I had $9.99 steak and lobster there on my first trip!

The Klondike. A person could get emphysema just from walking in the door. But I could go there with forty bucks, get drunk at their 5-cent 3-6-9 keno machines, and still leave with thirty five bucks! Good times.

Neither fall in your more than 25 year old timeline, but Stardust and Sands. I guess I read it to mean that closed more than 25 years ago.

I'm tempted to say The Sands or The Stardust but I'd have to go with the Desert Inn. The DI was the class of the strip for decades.

If buildings that are still standing count, then I would have to say the Imperial Palace...too many fun memories there - not all of them good, but in hindsight, fun. Really miss the Dealertainers. If still standing buildings don't count then the Westward Ho... always enjoyed playing there and by coincidence I happened to be there it's last day...still have pictures of the guys blacking out the signs out front and the newsmen doing their stories on the closing. And a pile of chips that I saved.

I didn't start traveling to Vegas until 2009. I would bring back O'Sheas. I loved playing poker there at the tables next to the door and the drunks come stumbling in to sit and play, EASY money. Plus loved the craps game there. The current reincarnation of O'Sheas is an abomination of the one I remember and loved.

Stardust. Used to go there often when my buddies and I were in college. Loved the race and sports book, saw Don Adams playing ponies there and shook Jim Brown's hand there too.

I'd also have to go with the Stardust. That was our "home" casino for several years.
