    My Trip Report

Well......not much of a TR here, I'd rather talk about the Shows
and I've put a few thoughts up in Shows/Entertainment.

Short trip, weather was partly cloudy with temps in the mid 90's.
There were a couple neat LIGHTNING shows out my RIO windows
Sunday and Monday and gaming at the RIO was the PITS!

I usually play over at the PALMS, but their computers went down
Monday and half the casino was on the blink...LITERALLY...lots and lots
of blinking lights on top of most of the machines. I walked back over on Tuesday but they hadn't been able to fix the problem yet and it was
spreading to the other side of the casino.....I played GOLD COAST and
RIO for the five days and didn't do very well at either. Sometimes it's THEIR
turn, sometime it's MY turn...this was a THEIR TURN, BIG TIME, TRIP.
......but it's always a good time, I saw my shows, visited with friends, ate, took naps...a totally relaxing/fun trip.

I met another Show-Junkie for dinner from LVA on Sunday at 6ix at N9ine over at the PALMS.
'Jimbucc' and his wife Cathy were going to be at the PALMS Monday.
We found each other......which is always a challenge when you only have and 'avatar' to go by, but Cathy spoke up first....."I know you..." and I knew
I had also made the right choice.

You see.................I'd been 'stocking' them past a few rows of VP Machines.
I'd seen Jim's (little) 'avatar' on his bio page, but to recognize him in person was just a guess......I thought I'd seen several Jims' before I found the real one, then Cathy spoke up, and we 'yacked' it up for quite a while.

I was off to WYNN and they were off to WIN, so we said our good-byes and headed out to vanquish Vegas.
I ran into them again the next day as they were coming out of
the Ronn Lucus Show over at RIO.......they HAD been winning and I was
    still loosing.

As a matter of fact, I had my first experience with a Las Vegas ATM Machine this trip........I've never needed one before.
I was running low of Bankroll and hit up the ATM for cash..........didn't work, said I didn't have any money...I had entered $1,000.00

I learned I had to choose one of the pre-selected amounts on the screen rather than put in my own amount. I also learned, my Bank had set it up so that I could only withdraw the amount once a day. One of the folks form behind the cage had to come out and help me figure the damn thing out and explained it was to protect me from someone ripping me off if my card was stolen.......dumbshit, all I had to do was READ! dah.......

Before she explained that however, I tried to use my VISA card...WRONG!
The ATM service charge to get MY MONEY out was four bucks...I didn't have a problem with that, but to pull a thousand dollars using my VISA...the service charge was $54.00...DO YOU APROVE THIS CHARGE?
...I found the CANCEL button all by my self!
Turned out, I hit 4-ACES, 4-KINGS, and 4-4's on Double Bonus and never needed even the first withdrawl. So much for gaming...it sucked this trip.

Two real good dinners...N9ine in the PALMS and VooDoo Cafe up-top of RIO.
I went to Penn & Teller again, We Will Rock You again, KA` again, and took one of my local friends to Barry Manilow over at the LVHilton.
...Oh, and had lunch, by the pools, at WYNN. I've been over there twice now, and the only thing I can think of that's worth 'my time' over there is his Chili in the Cafe...it's great. It come in a small size 'crock' with melted cheese on top, large tender chunks of serloin and tomatoes and a side-car of sour cream. Someday, I'm sure I'll see LeReve. Reviews are getting a bit better
    but I'm not ready yet.

    Next trip Oct.2nd

    ATM's

Thanks for the TR GREGRIO. You have to watch those ATM's. If you do the credit card thing, they stick it to you. Also, after those HUGE fees the interest starts immediately whether you have a balance or not.

I have noticed that the debit card fees can vary also, from $1 per transaction to $5 per transaction from casino to casino. I hate giving away money like that, let me gamble it away where I have a chance at getting a profit every now and then.

Thanks for the trip report Greg. Too bad you had a bad run of gaming this time. Next time you'll do better I'm sure.

Those ATMs are expen$ive to say the least. You probably already know this but some of our other readers may not; At the RIO you can cash a personal check at the cage for free no surcharge whatsoever if you are a hotel guest. I think it's a $500 per day limit but I could be wrong on that, I just don't remember.

Nice to have you back and Ocrober will be here before you know it.

Well...I'm usually fine on the money issue. I 'was' gettin' down there though,
and felt I needed a 'booster'. I just made the one ATM move for $400. and
never even needed it as it turned out. 4 KINGS, 4 ACES, and 4 4's on
Double Bonus came shortly after the ATM experience.
This was one of the worst gaming trips I've had in a long time...
Odds are, Oct. will be better!

Sorry to hear you didn't do too well Greg. I hope we didn't jinx you. We came back with $235 less than we took.

I played your Cleopatra machine at The Orleans and turned $14 into $30 on the penny denomination. I never would have played it if you hadn't talked about it.

Thanks for spending some time with us and it will be your turn in October.

    Carole King was excellent.

Not trying to poke fun at you, but I saw a guy at a casino once before who couldn't get any money out of the ATM. I told my wife when you start losing while playing the ATM machine, I think it's time to stop gambling! ;)
