Is there a basic or generic formula to estimate ADT for slot machines (not VP) $1 to $5 machines

What would be ADT of $5000 coin thru 1000 CET Tier Credits in a day?

What would be ADT of $12500 coin thru 2500 CET Tier Credits in a day?

Just trying to learn the ropes, thanks for your comments.

The Nevada Gaming Commission publishes monthly statistics, and breaks out details by geographic area and also by the total revenue of a casino.

If you look at all Strip Area locations, it's about 6.5% hold for $1 and about 5.25% for $5 machines. That includes all machines at those denominations.

I usually just use 10% when I want to ballpark my theo vs coin-in.

I agree with chuck. 10% has always worked for me to keep a fairly accurate estimate of my theo in Vegas. I've never been off by more than $100 based on info I received from my host.
If you played exclusively $5 slots I would lower it to 5% for sure.

Tier credits are a great way to track it at CET properties, but only base tier credits earned via play. Always remember to keep a daily count of TCs you earn before purchases or bonuses.

Someone can check my math but here goes...

    TC * $5 = Coin In
Coin In * Hold = Theo

    So

    1000 * $5 = $5000
    $5000 * .10 = $500

The theo or ADT at 10% would be around $500. At 5% hold, $250.

    For 2500 TCs, $1250 or $625.

    My host told me:

    For standard slot play,

"To calculate ADT, it is your TC divided by 2, so if you make 1000 base TC, your THEO is 500."

Ah ha. I have been leaving quite a bit on the table if I divide earned TC by 2. No wonder the hosts on duty are so nice when I have them look at my hotel bill.

There is no way penny slots have a hold set to 90% at CET properties.

The problem with slots is it is virtually impossible to tell what your theo is because you don't know what the machines hold is set to. The casinos will never tell you that.

Venetian actually counts their points based on the machines theo, so its a better way to tell.

Well, from what DaiLun said, they're using 10% of coin in as your theo, but that's probably not exact.

But don't forget, that's just your theoretical loss to the casino. Comps are only going to be 30-ish % of theo, and your room and everything else in an offer has to come out of that 30%.

So if you do $12,500 coin in and your theo is $1,250, that's about $400 in comp value.

Yeah, I would say pennies is closer to 13% hold. But 10% is a good figure imo if you lump all the slots together.

How much do you think they figure for premium room Augustus/Octavius at Ceasars per day? Not rack rate, right?

The few times I've been quoted a casino rate at various hotels, it's been about 30 - 33% off the rack rate on a normal night. I think that's a decent ballpark number to use when figuring what the casino pays the hotel for a comped room.

Around $150 + resort fee at the bottom. Bet it can soar based on vacancy, holidays, and availability.
