We want to try an old school Italian restaurant but can't decide. Requirements (in order) are great food, old school rat pack feel and live entertainment (on a Sunday night if possible). Budget is under $200 for 2 people. Anyone have recommendations or reasons to avoid? Or should we do an old school steakhouse instead? It can be on or off strip or downtown. Thanks in advance VMB :)

Options according to Yelp and VMB reviews:

    Casa Di Amore
    Piero's
    The Bootlegger

Thanks! I saw this place on a Anthony Bourdain show and he highly recommended it too but 24/7 places always concern me when it comes to food quality. Any particular dishes you would recommend?

I love casa di amore. It's off strip but they'll give you a complimentary round trip ride in their limos (which are in pretty good shape). Fun live band and very affordable. $100 will get you wine, apps, and large servings of pasta dishes.

    Bootleggers is always great!

One that really flies under the radar which we recently re-discovered is Chicago Joe just south of downtown. It's small, get there early.

Another under the radar place is Ventano's (sp?) in Henderson.

    LOL, of course there's always Battista's. :) {ducking, running, looking for a place to hide} :)

I'd suggest Piero's off the strip.

LOL, I really don't know what it is about that place. People either love it or hate it!

I mean it's not my first choice by any means, but I've been there several times over the years and I never remember having a bad meal there. Of course getting silly on the AYCD house wine certainly adds to the ambiance. :) And, it's one of those places where you can easily "bury" alcohol on your expense report. :)
